Loophole for max plants allowed in garden

I was thinking just now...

In States that allow patients to grow their own medicine, there is of course a limit to the number of plants that may be grown.

Could one circumvent this rule by layering? Not air layering and cutting the branch, but if you lst'd a branch (or several) and trained it low and over to an empty pot. Could you then layer the branch into the pot, giving it a complete new root system for that cola but leave it connected to the original plant. They are still one plant, but you have the advantage of having 2 (or more) clone sized plants. This is like a scrog but with multiple root systems.

I know you can layer some plants in this way but I would like to hear some thoughts on whether this would work with cannabis.

I'm not exactly sure about that as far as the legalities go, it my fly because it could be the first time leo have seen that. But it could technically work. I'm interested in seeing it go down.

If you are over your legal limit. And can provide evidence it is 100% for your use & you do not sell it in anyway shape or form. Again, money shall save you in court on stuff like that.

Yea, I havent got a set up like that but usually a wake and bake plus coffee and a cig makes me think random shit. The Midnight Gardener, judging by the clever patrick stewart upload, is just plain frustrated by my thread. But personally I think its kind of clever, and maybe even a fun notion to toy around with.
