Lower half of plant saggy and sad looking

Edit: by request, I'm explaining what I had deleted out of shame! Haha

Ok, I opened my cabinet and found the lower 3rd of one plant all droopy and sad. Somehow my temp was 88 degrees, it's usually 82, so I wanted someone to confirm that it could be heat (which doesn't seem right for droopy leaves) or suggest an alternative. As soon as I posted I checked the soil and it was bone dry from top to bottom. I think that between root growth and the circulation fan I recently added at the bottom, the soil dried out much quicker than normal. Usually I can water every 3-4 days, but it looks like now I should be checking it on the second day and watering every 2-3.

I prefer to water when the lights come on, but because it was so dry, I watered it quick before they turned off.

Well now you're taking what could be a learning experience for somebody and wasting everyone's time. Either expound on what happened or delete the thread man.

Yeah I would have deleted it, but I'll go ahead and repost what happened in case someone is a total noob like me... Alienwidow nailed it based on the title, nice job! Haha

Haha. Yeah, I had deleted them pretty quick!

Thanks, they really are. The topping and LST did wonders for it, I have...many tops. Just glad I haven't killed them yet! Its my first grow still.

Coming along well, I think!

Always good to check them twice a day. Look for any signs of bugs while youre checking how long until they need water. If you would have left those another 10 hours they would have some serious droop going on. Branches would have started sagging on the tips as well. Then when you rehydrate them youll have some pretty serious leaf damage. Also keep in mind the plants drink more as time goes on so it gets harder. Twice a day and youll be golden. Good luck.

It's FFOF and perlite. Approximately 30-40% added perlite, 60-70% FFOF. I use Dynagro nutrients, and advance nutrients cal/mag.

The FFOF soil comes hot and my plants do not like it for the first week or so, I flush it right away to try and clean up the soil a bit. Be aware of that if you use FFOF.

That's almost exactly what I do. I noticed a droopy leaf or two at lights on time, but didn't think much of it, and forgot to check soil. Its my own fault. Thanks for the tips, I'll certainly take the advice!

Happily the leaves and everything perked back up before the lights came on, so as soon as they did I was greeted by a happy, lush plant. No permanent leaf damage or anything.

No danger of that. Soil is too unpredictable for my liking and watering can be a pain.

For people who like soil your post may be good advice.
When I quit soil I would flush the soil in the plant pot then wait to plant. Mostly because the soil will settle.
I found that if those little plant pots weren't filled to the top the lower leaves would get screwed up from coming in contact with the plant pot.

Good words of advice. I like it. I understand what you mean about unpredictable, but once all the nasty gets sucked out and its basically a moisture/nutrient retention medium it seems to work well. Im a newbie, but eventually if i step up my game, ill switch to aero. No need to go buy or mess with soil, automated feeding... seems much easier.
