Lowest Water Temperature?

I was wondering what the lowest water temperature you can have that MJ can grow in using an EBB and Flow system? I have well water that is probably about 50 degrees (if not colder) and I have tried to use a aquarium heater but it blew up on me when my reservoir drains (because it is no longer submerged.)

Thats fairly cold.. Coldest i have seen a grow was 55 degrees . get a new heater at a hydro store,,, or use a hair curling iron (just kidding!). Your heater should be in the bottom of the rez... and your rez should never completely empty... what are your room temps? Your h20 should get a few degrees within that temp after awhile. You should ber able to feed at 50 degrees as the temp will rise eventually... your room should be about min 70 to a high of 78,,, at 78 you may be a little warm (in your rez) and you better use h202 or you may get algae... and I have to write more so I can look at that fine butt... not even a hydro store...any pet store aquarium shop. wont be more than $35. Warmish H2O is very essential to growth!!!!

Warmish? UHH, no.. not "warmish".... cool water holds h20 better,,, roots like h20... Planst&trees outdoors grow roots in cool soil, underground.... 60-70 degress is fine... low 55.. highest without beneficial microbes 70

Try an aquarium heater with an auto shutoff.

Not tryin to be an expert, just speaking from past experiences. The ladies were definitely stunted by dumping 50 deg nutes on their bare roots. an aquarium heater did the trick just a bit too late.

I dont know much about hydro, but im pretty sure u can shock your roots if the water you put in is colder or warmer then the temp of the roots. I'm not sure though.

There are alot of aquarium heaters that automatically shut of when out of water.

Yea I have done some research and found a couple. I just hope they actually work. Mine that blew up on me apparently had an automatic shut off, but it obviously didn't work.

I do DWC grew White Russian and in flower the reservoir temps were as low as 56 but didnt hurt it at all.

How can you say this? You probably had a great harvest bu during the initial phase of bloom you plants are very stunted and then you dont get all the development you could have! This is definitely a coulda woulda shoulda case but if youre happy at the end then "Great!!" IMO If yourH2O temps are aroung 65-70 then you will maxiize your plants's potential, all other variables considered.
