So... I left my place for a few days and had my roommate look after this ak. He called me the other night and said the tips of the leaves where turning a bit yellow and i told him it was probably from the heat go ahead and water it if its dry (With my diluted nute mix 1/2 of the recommended dose of big bloom) and set up a fan to bring in some air into the closet. I recently put up some sheets inside of the closet to cut out any light from getting outside of the closet. I have a feeling though that even though the sheet is pretty thin it is holding in a lot of heat so im just testing different things. Back to the original story, i came home and checked on it and noticed some of the leaves were a bit more then yellow and had brown spots.

Any one have any ideas about what it could be?

Ok so i have come to the decision that this is a Mg deficiency from the yellowing working its way out from the stem on the leaves eventually turning brown. Also i noticed some of my stems were turning purple, another sign of a Mg deficiency. I flushed with 1 tablespoon/Gallon of Epsom salt hopefully this will fix things.

That thread is pretty good, ive seen others but that's the first time ive seen that one. So like i said i flushed it with Epsom water yesterday and then today flushed it a bit more with 2 gallons of water. I also made a solution for foliar feeding like it was suggested in a few threads i was reading. Im kind of on a budget didn't get paid today because i missed the last week of work, so im kind of worried about how im going to fight off those other problems. I'm hoping if i can get the Mg def taken care of it will unlock the calcium in the soil.

I know the big bloom from fox farms is kind of a light fertilizer but would it also help these deficiencies?

The yellowing itself will start by curling the tip of the leave then working its way down the stem. While it moves down the stem the yellowing and browning spread from the middle to the outside of the leaf. Ive never had this problem before and im really hoping it wont hurt me to bad? but what can i do?. So im gonna roll with these problems and try to fix them because its not worth getting all pissed about (even though i really want to). The next issue is i am once again going to be a away from my home for 5 days and my roommate will be watching it but im not exactly sure what to tell him to do for it on a daily basis as we fight off these problems.

Parts affected by Magnesium deficiency are:
space between the veins (Interveinal) of older leaves; may begin around interior
perimeter of leaf.

That seems to fit the characteristics but im just wondering how would i know if its not getting enough or if there is to much buildup in the soil over it that it locks it out?

I figured i would try to put the whole picture together.

1. Very top leaf tips are turning brown and curling.
2. Purple Stems on main cola
3. Leafs folding upward like it was almost to hot but its not, also the beginning stage of the destruction.
4. More taco leaves and also the browning centered right on the inside of the leaf
5. Taco leaf slowly losing pigment.
6. Yellowing browning on middle of plant.
7. more of the same
8. Bottom leaf starting to look like the other ones i pulled off about two weeks ago figuring they just were not receiving sufficient light.

hey ThatGuy113,

have you checked your PH? Im having the same problem and it could be that your water is too acidic, which is locking out your mag...I would try flushing with PH adjusted water {6.5~6.8} Other than that, your plants are looking great!

I checked the PH of the two types of water i was using this whole time and one was 7.6 the other 5.8... awesome so i flushed with R/O water sitting at 6.4 closest i could get it to 6.5 and hopefully she will bounce back.

yeah salt build up will fuck up your PH and lock out nutes...i think the flush with 2 gallons PH'ed water will help alot.. but auto flowering plants get stressed VERY easly. is she budding ok?

Shes budding slow and the leaves are still turning brown... i just noticed that there are roots growing out of the side of this aero pot that is supposed to air prune the roots but could it be from the roots being exposed? to be on the somewhat safe side even though i know it is absolutely not advised i didnt know what to do so i transplanted it into a little bigger of a container. ( I also flushed with ph'd water once again)

For the sake of just asking, this doesn't look like underfeeding problems does it?

and also i found a better diagram of what Mg deficient leaves look like and the browning starts on the outer side of the leaves where my leaves the brown works from middle to the outside so maybe its not a Mg problem?

i dont think its the pot cause roots love air...i do think it may be caused by underfeeding. now that you flushed again i whould feed her. and hope shes not too stressed from the transplant.

I saw another thread on here talking about a plant diease "septoria" according to a post on the other thread for a reference
https://www.rollitup.org/marijuana-plant-problems/299720-yellowing-brown-spots-2.html

I have been feeding, and i did some foliar feeding cause i figured if the soil was still not all the way there the leaves would take it in a lot quicker. So i mixed about half strength of the suggested amount for foliar feeding and sprayed her down outside of the tent and let all of the water be absorbed and knocked off additional water.

Within the past couple of days i have been covering the plant with a nute solution every day and i have seen a change in the plant. New pistils are finally forming and once again the plant it growing unfortunately the leaf problem has not stopped.

are the more leafs fucked or is it the smae ones?...dont worry if its the same ones aslong as the new growth is doing good.

I was gone for a few days and had my right hand man for this whole thing continue to water it using a spray bottle with the mix for foliar feeding. The spots have made it to the top but no everywhere on the plant. Whats weird to me is there are beautiful green leaves at the bottom of the plant, they look like new growth so im hoping maybe weve slowed it down or stopped it. Pistols are actually showing up a couple weeks behind schedule. Im ok with this though cause it was my test run with this setup anyways so im just gonna keep going till either i harvest or it falls over dead. Doesnt look like the second option will happen hopefully.
