Lowryder 2 weekly grow journal

After reading the posts in regards to Lowryder 2 and seeing that several people had questions about it but few had yet to grow it I thought I would document my growing experience with them for anyone interested.

For starters….I germinated 10 seeds that I bought from www.marijuana-seeds.nl.

Germinated and ready to plant in 1-2 days

I am using 6 inch pots hoping they will be large enough to use from start to finish. Planted in potting soil that says it feeds for up to 9 months. I also put about ½ inch vermiculite in the bottom of the pot.

Planted 12-6-07

Growing under full spectrum 5000k and a couple 6500K florescent tubes.

Pictures taken 12-11-07

some things i like about the l2 is that you CAN GROW IT AND NOT GET CAUGHT HAHHAHA RAWR it just bursts out of the dirt like marion barber breaking a tackle and heads for the endzone and it only takes 2 months. wonder how much you can knock off the total harvest time if you use a DWC system. probably a week or so?

This is approximately day 12 from seed for my Lowryder #2 and they have shown some very strong growth the past couple days. Thus far they appear very green and healthy. I have them under 24hr florescent light and am considering switching to my MH ballast for a couple more weeks of veg. I am wishing I had another HPS ballast for flowering but it looks like I will be flowering under fluorescents this time around.

Ive done full grow under 800watts of dual spectrum HIDs. Have 14 plants at the moment in a 16sq foot area. they are taking up all the space, have grown to 2 foot tall and are loaded with white hairs and crystals. some buds have matured already (odd few on the main stem about half way down) and they are big and juicy.
Personally i think this is an amazing strain and strongly recommend that you put them under HID light as soon as possible, and you'll be suprised by the amount of growth you will get.

By the way dude i duno why no one has told you, you want to wrap something opaque round those pots, otherwise you roots are gonna get burned, and if u just want to use those small pots start to finish, you want as much root space as possible, looking great though enjoy, i did a AfghaniRyder grow, tasty stuff.

I am thinking I am going to try a total florescent grow start to finish. Seeing how this is a 24hr light grow all the way through I just don’t feel comfortable with the HPS running 24 hr a day when I’m not home. It’s probably safe but I don’t like to take chances.

you could always run the hps when you are home and the flos when you arent. that way you get the peace of mind and the benefits of extra light.

true true ...that would work good...I will do just that. I have two grow areas at the moment one at 12/12 with the hps and one florescent 24hr with my lowryders. My 12/12 plants have a week or 2 left so that will leave the hps open to the lowryders after that. I think I am going to stick to one area at a time from now on.

Ok I may have jumped the gun on declaring male and female plant numbers. I have 4 very obvious females and two very obvious males. I am sure you know what I’m talking about when you look at a plant before it shows sex and you just know what it’s going to be right? Tall and all stem and fan leaves typically male and shorter with secondary growth under the fan leaves leads me to believe female. His is the assumption I was going on when I thought the other 4 would be female. The first males were so quick to show and they are all on the same pace I just thought for sure I had 8 girls. If these plants were to only produce 4-5 females I think they would be declared a flop in my book and a no grow. Still no sure word yet but I think I am going to have a couple more boys in the batch L my Christmas is ruined now!!! WHHHYYYYYYY

It’s official 4 girls 6 boys ;( not sure if it's worth running the lights for. At this point I have to say I won’t try them again for $70.00 to only come up with 4 female seeds.
