Hiya DWR,
Did you measure the the PH of the Hesi feed mixed with neutral water (at the recommended dosage)?

I use the PH Down.. and down it to anywhere near 6.2 - 6.5 - But if you use the Bloom mix, you'll have a ph of 6.77 or something... i like to down it a little...

Plant still growing and the single fan and 3-fans are starting to branch out and I can see the 5-fan starting to pop up (pretty tiny though).

I came across a cactus feed today. It's 4-7-7. Do you think this will be OK for flowering? Not sure weather to use this or the Hesi (which I can get at the local head shop). The Hesi seems to have a "PH corrector" although I'm not sure what this means.

Just means that it corrects itself to a light acid ph. thats 6.7 or so.... it automaticly corrects the ph of the water... This is why hesi is so easy on beginners cuz ya realy dont need any ph & Ec meters...

Still looking reasonable I think.

Took some good pics this time and linked externally for higher res. (click on full size to see). Hope you don't mind pics!

It seems the flash brought out some little white dots. I'm figuring these could be micro-trikes since I'm starting to get a scent  sticking my nose up close or maybe it's something else that provides the smell.

Anyway, wasn't expecting it to smell at this early stage. Not like I'm complaining or anything. The second leaf set isn't as curly as the first. Just have to wait and see if this changes. Maybe the genetics. Nothing wrong with the colour I think.

Got home today. I usually get in a couple of hours after the start of the light period.

It's a beautiful sunny day today. Must be about 13000 lumens of natural light coming down at the moment so I decide to stick her on the balcony.

In the space of an hour the leaves start pointing upwards like she's basking in the sun. So my conclusion... it's been said that you can do the whole growing under just a flowering spectrum. I'm sure you can but the sunlight seems to provide something else. Also her internode spacing is very short. The nodes are virtually stacked on each other (perhaps a result of using the single 2700K spectrum). Am having an idea for an experiment with my next grow to use a 200w 6500K spectrum CFL for the first two weeks and then switch over to the 2700K spectrum.

Anyway, here's a picture of her praying to the sun God. Getting just a bit attached to her now so thinking of naming her.

In other news - I've ordered some nutes. Should be arriving in a few days.

HESI Blüh-Complex 1L (Bloom Complex)
HESI SuperVit 10ml
Canna PH+ Wachstum/Blüte 1L

Hopefully will not have to fuck about with the PH too much with these nutes. If I need to bring it down I'll use white vinegar.

Growth rate pretty good.

Leaflet sequence has jumped from 3 to 7 on the 3rd node. Didn't think it was supposed to do this. Also the center leaflet on the third node on one branch is a complete runt. Generally seems to be happy though... noticeable new growth everyday. Leaf colour healthy and not changing.

This plant is turning so dense it's unbelievable. Hope it doesn't carry on this way 'cos the new branches underneath need light too. Cannot put lights this far down 'cos they'd have to be resting on the soil.

Don't forget - chip in with any thoughts about this :-)

Still looking healthy. Can see little pre-flowers appearing and a whole bunch of new branches.

My nutes and PH+ arrived yesterday. I think I will start feeding the bloom nutes on day 21 (half strength), followed by just water on the next watering and then on to full strength.

Hiya DWR,

Cheers for sticking around buddy.

Why the PH up? 'Cos I'm paranoid and it was ony 10 Euros ;-) Also got a mate who's growing so he might need some. This stuff must be for bulk growers. 15ml for 100l of water and only comes in litre bottles + an expiry date of 2013... jeez I'd probably only get to use a cupful and that's even if I ever needed it.

On my first attempt I panicked 'cos the feed mixture was acidic ( < 5 ) so I added some baking powder. This was one the possible factors that may have killed it I think.

Anyway... I changed my mind about the flowering nutes. Started today. The plant's looking tough and is dense as fuck + it has the pre-flowers already. Mixed recommended dosage of SuperVit and Hesi Bloom and water. Came out as neutral 7 so I added a few drops of white vinegar to bring it down to about 6.8 and fed. Certainly hasn't showed any signs of distress after 4 hours. Next watering in 2 or 3 days will be just water. I'm expecting to see it grow like buggery from now :-)

I guess I'll have to experiment with the feeding schedule - I'm paranoid about over feeding but at least I've got the flush as a last resort.

It looks like I'll only have to add a few drops of vinegar to my nutes from now on.

I may never need to up it. Just a safety measure since I dunno what could possibly bring it down (within the soil). I always measure my runoff every second watering. Maybe I'm just paranoid. If the runoff ends up acidic then the next watering I'd either not PH down or maybe just UP it a little to counter the imbalance in the soil.

Maybe it's not possible for this to happen. :dunce:Dunno, still learning.

Photy updates.

Now shooting upwards. More pistils appearing. Couple of hours sunshine today. Cotyledons really yellow now. Nute feed time tomorrow.

Meristem is slightly thinner at the bottom than the part of the stem with the newest growth. Also noticed a root at the bottom of the stem going into the soil. Seems really happy though and when she's happy so I'm I. Dreading harvest time - feels like I'd be murdering her - LOL end of her life anyway.

I heard lemon juice was rly good for bringing PH down under controll, also heard it can change the smell and taste of the plant to a more lemony taste lolz, jus an idea.

Pic update.

Looks like the tops are starting to take over the light. Tonight I'll be positioning a couple of 20w CFLs for the mid-section buds. I may LST some lower branches out of the "cover" to let the lower buds get a little more of the direct light. Good idea?

Out in the sun right now.

It's starting to get tall(ish) - about 15" right now. Hope it doesn't go too bonkers - it'll only be week 4 in a couple of days

All in all, still looking good I think.

Let me know what you guys think.
