I used to collect records back in the 70s and have been planning to record them to the computer and make MP3s out of my favourite songs and albums. Will try to get around to it eventually and my son doesn't really want them so I might as well sell them off to buy a boat or pay off the VISA.

I've only catalogued one box so far and have two other boxes still to do.

At the end of each title is my rating of the condition of each. I used to buy new ones then record them to tape and put the album away so many are in like-new condition. Put lots into new vinyl sleeves too if they didn't already have one.

C= Album cover
A= The album itself
I= Inserts that came with the album (Y or N) sl means sleeve.

I've since found out there is a specific way to rate conditions but didn't know when I did this a few years ago.

Scale is 1 - 10 with 10 being perfect.

I gave my few records away 20 odd years ago. Back in my Navy days I had a couple thousand cassettes, but we all know what happens to them over time. Squeak squeak. I do have 2K'ish cd's now, and most of them are copied on CD's with the original in the closet and also ripped on my hard drives. But I do have (the audio) from several hundred grateful dead concerts recorded on dvd's. I need to get them copied to my hard drives.

The software is free and the cables needed are pretty cheap. It's time that I'm short of.

I have a 10" 45 on pink-tinted transparent vinyl that plays from the inside-out on one side and the other side plays one of two songs, depending on which path the stylus takes
The music itself is horrible

I used to have the 45 for, They're coming to take me away haha. The flip side was the same song backwards and is amazing to listen to ripped on 'cid. My dad heard it and destroyed it along with a Stones album when he heard Squeeze my lemon. I was not even 15. lol

Around 1978 I met a lady while driving cab and we dated for while. She had the 45 and let me borrow it to tape it and I still have the tape with both sides on it. Wish I had the 45 tho.

It's a song about a guy's dog leaving him and driving him insane. Some say it's about a woman and the words 'mangy mutt' are code for biatch.

"They're Coming to Take Me Away, Ha-Haaa!" is a 1966 novelty record written and performed by Jerry Samuels (billed as Napoleon XIV), and released on Warner Bros. Records. The song became an instant success in the United States, peaking at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 popular music singles chart on August 13, No. 1 on the Cash Box Top 100 charts, No. 2 in Canada, and No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart.

I heard a story on NPR about the bad old days when jazz was outlawed in the USSR. LP's were cut on old X-ray films. There is a book about it called Bones.
