I generally like to let them get a bit taller before training them. I don't like to have to move parts of the plant out of the way when they're that low and I'm trying to water.
I just water as normal and then spray off any soil blend that gets on the leaves with plain water. I wanted to get an early start on LST so I can make sure I get as much light to the whole plant as I can. I dont want a ton of popcorn buds lol.

Even if you rinse them off, I doubt you'd be doing your leaves any favors by dumping nutrient water on them when you decide to feed.

Not really something you're gonna need to fixate on during your first grow, but at some point you're going to want to start taking microclimates into consideration. As the plant starts to bush out, the leaves will overhang the pot and if you don't have a bit of height between the medium and the lower leaves, it can restrict air flow and potentially cause problems from very localized excess humidity. Kind of like a mini greenhouse at the bottom part of the plant. You could snip some leaves off to let more air in, but seeing as they're very close to your canopy you don't really want to lose too many of your main solar panels.

I used to be wayyy too eager to get started with training and would usually create needless minor hassles for myself. Going too aggressively, too early, even LST can piss off a young plant enough to stunt growth. Found that out the hard way more than once.

As I understand it. When you kitty topped it for you. You want to LST the two branches that grow from there.

Don’t tie down fan leaves (use the tuck method on these when they get bigger). Support the main base, and then seek to tie down the main/tallest node, which will cause side branches to grow taller. The plant sends its energy to the highest part of the plant, which is why you get a Christmas tree shape if you don’t do anything. The goal is to tie down branches so that many spots on the canopy have a similar height and they all try to grow upwards. Don’t tie down fan leaves, tie down branches. Here are a couple of mine with a couple weeks of training.

Plants here are 22 days from sprouting. I’ve simply kept after the tallest shoots, tying down and tucking. Notice now that there are many cola spots at a similar heights rather than just one. Running a journal with pics each step of the way if you want to check out how I’ve gotten here.

@Buddy73 Does some lovely training on his plants! Maybe he’ll upload a few pics to show u how he does it
most of my girls are topped at the fifth node , I use home made copper spikes to position the branches to where I would like them and keep going every day until I’m happy with the the shape and spread of the canopy with the occasional light defoliation, the first leaves to go are about a week after topping and that will be the two large fans at the very of these plant to let as much light in as possible, I will then tuck for a few days after to make sure they are still growing strong, most of the leaf removal is then done in stretch, as long as you don’t go to mad at one time it won’t slow them down!
