LST Tips? (When used with topping)

Heyoo, I would love some LST tips when used with topping)

What shape are you aiming for? How do you make this shape? Do you let the plant grow straight up, top it, and then LST the remaining branches only until you have the spread out shape you want? Or is this something I should learn more by trial and error?

Lately I've been making the main branch horizontal, but I wonder if I'm being too eager. I have one plant that is 7 weeks old and barely inches away from the top soil :sleep:

I like to pull them horizontal then I get what looks like a ribcage of nice colas.

From an early age I just start tying the main stalk down. The lower growth starts to grow vertical and match the main stem. As everything starts to grow vertical I continuously tie down new growth to the outside edge of the pot. I aim for a wide structure, not a specific shape.

You can top if you want but it's not required for creating a huge plant. You can do that with LST alone.

My current plants topped once each and LSTed. U1 had constant LST and U2 was grown out and only tied down twice. You can tell the difference in the structures from constant LST and the minimal LSTing. GL in your plant training.

This is the anatomy I seek by breaking apical dominance early and separating nodes around the pot so they don't overlap. I no longer top but when I did it was the same concept. Separate, bend and tuck fans out of the way and tie down nodes around the pot. But I grow autos, so it's pretty easy

I did the rainbow shape with my first plant and I don't think I like it

Perhaps When planting a seed I will plant it near the side of the pot and continue with a sideways main stem and let it all grow up in that "ribcage" fashion. My one plant is damn near like only 2" off the pot and it's 7 weeks old. Think I got a little too excited lol

After the plant gets about 6 or 7 nodes, I top it and let the new branches grow in a few days, then I do this. This plants almost done, only about 6 or 7 weeks to go

I like to shoot for this when training. Its not always perfect but something close to this is good

I prefer to top the main branch, but you can just bend it over if you want. I think you get more nice colas by topping it though.

Yeah I want to top my girls, I was just confused on how you guys get the bushy shape. Sounds like I need to keep the main stem vertical, top it, and arrange the side branches so they are an even height

You spread her legs wide open is what you do. Strap her legs down so she cant move.

Not all those weak inner branches will shoot up but so many will that you get the bush...get it...spread legs...bush...oh come on! I worked hard on that gag

Tie down the main stem early. Lower growth will catch up to the main stem growth. Tie down the tallest growth. Tie down the tallest growth. Tie down the tallest growth. You get the idea.

All LST. Bushy enough?
