The new dimmable lumatek with a hps lumatek bulb(1000 watt) is the shit!! It runs cooler, the spectrum is great and electric bill is lower. I hated the ballast at first but later found out it was the piece of shit bulb i was using which was that new sunleaves 3k mh bulb that was supposed to be good for flower but its a piece of shit. Had problems with it turning on in the morning and thought it was ballast but it was that shit ass bulb. Lumatek ballast with lumatek bulb is the best combo ive seen

if you have digital ballast you need digital compatible bulbs :D

So your sayen a lumatek bulb of = wattage to a hortilux runs cooler, or just coller then a M.H cause m.h bulbs usually run hotter unless there ceramic or so ive herd

it was supposed to be compatable with the ballast. Thats what the jackass said at the grow store. Im happy now everything is running smooth and cool

im telling u dude get the lumatek combo, way cooler than hortilux or any ive seen. Now it will be easier controlling the heat in summer.

The digital ballast itself run cooler. But the bulb still puts out comparible heat to others. I run Lumi ballasts and Hortilux bulbs. And yes have tried a Lumatek bulbs. Same heat output from the bulbs. And Hortiluxs PAR rating is much better than Lumateks. Lumatek digital bulbs are ok but Hortilux and Ushio both will out perform them....

Any bad luck with the lumatek hortilux combo? I want to get a hortilux, but I've read the lumatek digis blow them up and was leaning towards lumatek HPS

I only ran one crop with my lumatek 1000w dimmable that is sitting around right now but a year or two ago when I bought it I was reading the same thing and asked the guy at the grow shop if he was getting many people with problems. He told me they fixed it in the new 1000w dimmables and that the 600s were the one that popped bulbs/ had firing problems. On his advice I got the 1000 witch I was already leaning towards. I did one three month run with a horti my buddy gave me that he said he used for one run. No problem even dimmed it a few times cause of heat problems still no problems. Take it with a grain of salt though especially if you plan on using your bulbs for a long period of time, as I would do if I was payin' a c-note each.

I was told by the hydro store guy, that the lumateks work great with the Digilux HPS but for some reason the Digilux MH were having problems either burning out or something to do w/ the super lumens mode. he steared me toward the Sunmaster 1100w Warm Deluxe MH. the thing is yeah it puts out 133,000 lumens but for a veg bulb it's not exactly the right spectrum. i ran a 600w Sunmaster Cool Deluxe MH and my friends plants loved em it had a much bluer spectrum than his reg Hortilux MH..........so i think im going to just go w/ the cool deluxe over the warm. lumes isnt everything if it's not the right spectrum right?

i have three lumitek six hundreds running hps. never got a grow with hortilux. switched to ushio opti red no problem even on super lumens.
bulb does need to be digi compatable. also have a sunmaster hps. it never blew out but switching to super lumens it doesnt seem any brighter. ps the ushios fire quicker.
