Lumens per plant?

I was told that a plant should at least get 10,000 lumens...in other words if i had 5 plants,i should have no less than 50,000 lumens. Is that 100% correct?

1000 W HPS = ~150,000 initial lumens - covers 20 square feet = 7,500 lumens per square foot.

my new box is 4'x3'x6'...was thinking about using a 400w hps with 200w of side lighting for about 5 plants. just something personal :!:

Yeah,i was thinking that! I was hoping that 5 would be ok for that space?
