Its the only reason I owned a sega when I was 4.

What is going on is that the Earth is in position between the Sun and the moon. What we are looking at is the Earth's Shadow on the moon.

A solar eclipse occurs when the moon is between the earth and the sun and cast a shadow onto the earth. To view those you have to wear sunglasses of some type as you can*t look directly into the suns rays regardless of what's infront of it.

Full eclipses don*t occur often because of how perfect things have to work out. But partial eclipses happen once or twice a year.

Can you stare directly at the moon? Of course you can.

Its just when the moon is blocking the sun. Calm down my star gazer.
