I went to Lowes and found this plastic grid thing that seemed like a good, possibly temporary, board. Then I mounted the Growtek system onto it and hung it up. As I was running hose I realized that I had only bought about half the length that I needed. So now I have to wait for more to be delivered.

I will say I’m not crazy about the lack of a cover with these DYI pumps. Exposed wiring near water feels sketchy. I think I’m going to tape panda film mud flaps over them.

She looks metal af! My last husky has the same dark racoon eyes. She's probably super sweet, like most metalheads. haha.

The pumps are all independent so you can give different amounts of water or separate nutrient solutions. Also it eliminates having to balance every drip ring. Typically people are using them with pots, but they seemed like the perfect solution for slabs.

I'm going to use two per slab, and I plan to water the front half a little less than the back half. I noticed that due to the tray's slant for drainage, the front always stays more saturated. I didn't think of trying that until after I planned on buying it, but it seems like a good use of the technology.

Cool! Sounds complex and fun. I kind of want to make a more complex system myself, but every time I start planning it out, I get about halfway through the planning process, and then try to remember what I think I will gain from a complex system, when my simple system works fine, haha. More control is always better though. Are you going to try the "crop-steering" route?

Oh yeah, and she is a sweet dog. She'll rip the face off of a stranger though, but a mean cat can take her down any day of the week. She's kind of scared of my orange cat tbh.

Really I just don't want to hand water a bunch of plants anymore, and I haven't had great success with automated systems yet. This seems pretty straight forward once it's all setup. Plus I got to watch BK run it every day for an entire cycle instead of a shill youtuber or an invested grower trying to rope some company into their misery.

I got my 2x4x6 wire rack yesterday and my T8s are supposed to come today. I was going to tile my veg room, but I couldn’t find any white vinyl tiles locally and they were expensive to have delivered. So I just ordered a big roll of panda film that I’m going to cover the floor with. Whatever. I’m looking forward to having a sick clone setup and a sterile looking room.

It looks ghetto, but whatever. I may do the walls next, I drug the rack into the room, but I haven’t set it up yet.

The room was full of all kinds of stuff that was left behind when I started using it as a veg room. Like big mirrors and a table and random other things. Plus all of my grow stuff that was piled up after from my last harvest along with the veg stuff that’s always in there. It was a total mess.

I put the drip rings in. That was a hassle, but now all I have to do is run a little more hose, calibrate the Growtek controller and attach the hoses to the rings. Then figure out my watering timings. I hope the hose comes tomorrow or I'll have to wait until Monday.

Aside from that I still need to clone all of my plants, then prune the hell out of them and lay the scrog net down. This is the most money / work that I've invested into my grow since I first set it up. It will all be worth it when it's almost completely automated.
