Here's how you tell males from females. Take the best looking plants in your garden, the ones that are clearly a cut above the rest. These are you're males.

For that November timeframe they are hella small .... one glaring issue I see is that heavy compacted soil.
Not only does constrict roots , lower aeration and no real drainage. It would have been much larger plants plus they would have sexed out by now.
