...cool. And yeah, this thread could be helpful to some here for sure

Coming from a long history of fixing and administering macs and PC's for the better part of the last 20 years, Apple has done nothing but try and increase their profits by creating everything closed and proprietary and in turn charge more to fix it. It was almost the death of them back in the 90's. They wised up and switched to an Intel based architecture that allows the usage of any operating system that runs on an x86 platform running standard hardware and made them easy to upgrade and maintain after the warranty expires.
Now they switched again and have gone more and more proprietary again and you are seeing people taking another step back. Lose a hard drive and out of warranty? Yeah you need a special harddrive from apple that costs 3-4x as much with a special connector. Same harddrives that are in every PC, they just had the manufacturer add a heat sensor and changed the SATA connector standard...thanks Apple...Oh did I mention to replace a hard drive out of the newest generation imac's you have to completely remove the screen out of it and reseal it?
And dear god do not get me started on how impossible it is to troubleshoot a mac with issues as you stare at the spinny pinwheel of doom with 0 chance of getting any sort of error messages anywhere...
That's where I'm at right now. I'm just going to write it off as a loss and stick to pc's.And dear god do not get me started on how impossible it is to troubleshoot a mac with issues as you stare at the spinny pinwheel of doom with 0 chance of getting any sort of error messages anywhere...
Your issue is probably just some sort of OS software issue...if you've got a copy of your OS DVD handy pop it in and hold down C to boot off that disk and just reinstall OSXThat's where I'm at right now. I'm just going to write it off as a loss and stick to pc's.

but that implies that something worthwhile was actually created on it to begin with ho ho ho jk...poor kuroi, that was her suggestion, and was likely the right one
...before you wipe it, you might be able to access the drive and make a copy of your schtuff.

can't u boot from a disk? change the boot orderThat's where I'm at right now. I'm just going to write it off as a loss and stick to pc's.
My G5 motivates me. I love the interface. My Adobe master suite, iMovie and Final Cut work like a dream. While I grew up with PCs and daddy getting me all the software as a computer tech, my mac makes me want to do something creative every day. I'm playing with Front Row and the remote ^^ Every computer should have a remote, though I'm sure there's some way of using any bluetooth device, like how you can use a wiimote with an iphone for kicks.but that implies that something worthwhile was actually created on it to begin with ho ho ho jk

There's some truth to this, but crack is cheap too so...If my pc ever crashes it's because i've fucked with it. And having 50 windows or programs open at once shouldn't crash a computer Not sure what you guys do with your gear to have such awful results. One would have thought if PC's did nothing but crash they wouldn't be the market leader. Strange And what's with all this restarting of computers? No need for that with windows.
Yah but crack has an open OS. cn
