MacGuyver 4.2.0 method of selling clones

Being the genius I am... (think Wile Coyote type) :-P

...was thinking about how outrageously HIGH prices are for cannabis and even clones. Seems that many people buy clones as cuttings that have ROOT development already.

This is no longer considered a 'cutting' by law but a 'plant' as it has a developed root system. And the Law says you can only have 'x' number of 'plants' (in line with Amend 20).

Q. How can a dispensary have a large number of clones on hand for sale without them being classified as 'plants'?

A. Trim off the roots. That simple.

O.K. ..stay with me here.... here comes the pitch. Buyers want to purchase healthy thriving clones, but dont want to exceed the number of plants they are allowed in VEG state. The problem with buying only 3 clones is that not all three will survive, sometimes they do... sometimes they don't. Farming is gamble!

What if a dispensary only sold you CUTTINGS (wink, wink, nudge, nudge) ;-)
for LESS money than clones?
Remember, these 'cuttings' are NOT 'plants'...they have NO established root system evident.

With this method, one could buy say, 6-10 'cuttings' in a purchase without reprisal. You take them home, pop in your rapid rooters or growing medium of choice...voila! Once roots are established...you can either discard the newly rooted clones...OR repeat the cycle YOURSELF! Re-trim the roots of the clones you want to trade to others or sell! Remember if it HAS NO ROOTS...it's NOT A PLANT! (again legal definition here)

The benefits of this to both buyers AND sellers is immense. You can buy more, choose which clones look the most promising and then decide what to do with the others! Sellers could have VAST numbers of clones on hand by simply trimming the exposed roots off each day as needed. (if in a bubbler, hydro setup this is easiest)

One other benefit to this method is that the buyer could KNOW that the 'cutting' has a good chance of survival as it just had some roots on it...they were simply trimmed off just prior to purchase and the roots should easily grow out again with the right care! :weed:

FYI- I have been keeping cuttings alive and 'legal' for a very long time using the above method. Allows one to have lots of 'potential' plants on hand...but not very many PLANTS. :)

I would have thought though, that the only way of telling if a cutting was taken well was if it rooted, some people fuck it up and i think it could cause potential problems for people to pimp the system

If I get to visually inspect a clone first, and say I'll take this one- (kinda like picking out fish at the fish store), and the clerk trims off the roots in front of me...I would feel pretty confident I could make those roots sprout again..easily.

As far as people 'pimping' the system, ...that's already being done in ways that can end you in jail. I have yet to see anyone goto jail for immature cuttings with no roots who also has a MM card. I could be wrong...but I doubt it. ;-)

but wouldnt trimming the roots cause the little semi fragile pre plant to go through undue stress and possibly cause issues with the future of the plant?
