Magnesium deficiency?

Hello everyone. SInce yesterday I have noticed some strange things in the leaves.
The plants are in their 5th week of flowering stage.

I took a look at the internet and it seems that it magnesium deficiency, which can be caused by low pH levels.
I am using the fertiliser Powder Feeding. I am adjusting the pH level of the water. But my pH meter is terrible!

Let me know your opinion on it.

Thanks a lot!

If you look closely you see the white spots burn across the veins. Tell us about your lights, please.

I am using around 200 w of Chinese led lights plus one reptile uvb lamp.
I was using the uvb in a inproper way. According to some sources it should be used for only 2-4 hour a day. I was using 12h with the others.

I add nutrient once in a week. 0.4g powder feeding Booster plus 0.4g of Hybrids and 0.6 g of calcium for 1 litter of water per plant.
The TDS is always below 800ppm and the pH I try to keep in 6.5. But my pH meter is awful..

The plants are 2 blue dreams and 1 hindu kush. I attached a picture of the grow

It looks like a burn to me and not a nutrient burn or a deficiency.

Probably the UVB. Also I'd try to get better lighting for next time if you can. Those are pretty stretched out.

UVA can be ran all the time. UVB is harsh.

Thanks guys!
I Took off the uvb light. Hope only that will avoid further problems.
In any case, I attached more pictures of the plants. I turned off most of the red light for better visual.
UVA doesn't do much for the plant.

The reason they use it in your LED lamps is because they have a general lifespan and have the term UV in it.

UVB isn't common because of their shorter lifespan, and also not enough test to determine the right level.
Also because it is harmful to look at/prolonged exposure and they aren't sure how to protect themselves from people who look at lights.

There are reptile bulbs you can run all the time.
There are two versions one is yellow one is blue.

The lower wattage Tropical UVB can be ran all the time.
Maybe you replace your bulb with that so you don't need multiple timers etc.

The leaves on the bottom of the plants are fine. And I noticed the damaged leaves are below of one of the bigger lamps. Pics..
Yeah the lamps have a very conical direction of light and not much penetration.

I have seen people use vanity bathroom fixtures which also come reflective.
This could be an option for you instead of using wood.

Just my .02 :blsmoke:

Thanks for the help @Alter Jean .
The one I was using is a ReptiGlo 5.0.
I decided to use this time because in my first grow the flower was big but not dense and not too many trichomes.
Considering the damage on the leaves. Better to leave out of the grow. Just for caution.
Tomorrow I will try to increase the lamps distance.

good to know @osowhom .
I will invest in a better PH meter next grow for sure! Mine is annoying me a lot!
Today I need to water them, I will try to take care of of this.

low ph messed up my last grow and it started like that maybe try a flush and get some ph up
@Alter Jean

For now, I took off the uvb lamp and also took off a kind of "lens" of the lamps. They were concentrating the light a lot in some spots.

About the pH, I was reading around Web. I am thinking to compare the pH of my watering to the runoff water to have an idea of the soil pH.
Apparently it is not very accurate and usually marks a pH that is a bit lower than the actually soil pH.
I understood that if I water them with a pH 7 water and get a pH lower than 6 for the runoff , I should be worried about.
Is that correct?

No. Soil should buffer the ph if it's a good soil. 6.8 or whatever I haven't done soil in a long time.

@natureboygrower is a soil beast if he has a minute maybe he can help you with that question better than me.

If not then maybe someone else can chime in.. @Leeski I saw growing a mimosa Evo in soil.

Sorry I am no use to your question.

Plant seed & be free :blsmoke:

Not good, not good!
@Alter Jean @osowhom
I watered the Hindu Kush (the one with more stains) with a bottled mineral water with pH 6.6 and tds 30ppm (which I use to calibrate my meter).
The runoff pH was 5.8 and tds was 180ppm, the water had a light green tone.

I am thinking to buy and use a mineral bottled water with pH around 7 to 7.5 and flush her with it. Agree?
