Major problems with drying

I have tried twice now unsuccessfully with two crops to properly dry my buds. The first time I hung them upside down in a dark vented area with proper humidity for 4 days and then put them in a glass jar. I opened the jar every day to allow moisture to escape. The second time I allowed them to dry ontop of a brown paper bag in a dark room, turning them everyday. After 4 days I put in a plastic ziplock that I opened everyday to allow moisture out.

Both times after 7 days I ended up with my bright green great smelling buds turning into dark looking buds that smell horrible like musty grass clippings! Why is this happening? One person told me, "My god these went from kind bud to beasters in one week flat!"

Any thoughts? Btw, I am using good strains.
Thanks

Dont put the stuff in jars so soon. Do everything you did, but put the buds in paper bags for another 2-3 days before the jars. If your buds start to feel wet at all again after the jars put them back in paper for another day. You want the shit dry, but not brittle before you start to cure. Drying takes at least 7-10 days. Curing takes at least a month or two!

Buds should be dry before putting them in jars . . . they are rotting in the jars. You probably need more dry time.

Also when curing, the smell of your bud will gradually become better the longer you cure it. After about 2-3 weeks you should start to get that sweet smell if you are doing it correctly.

First of all in your knowledge what is ideal humidity and temperature for drying your buds. You may have been mislead and someone may point it out to you. The brown paperbag is a good start in the right direction. The part where you do falter is placing in a ziplock bag. When you properly cure either use cedar wood boxes or air tight canning jars. For me I cure my product in jars with occasional burping for a period of 2-3 weeks.
