i dont think it will work for any strain but most it will help bring out the color. from what ive seen it has to be around a 15-20deg change in temps and the lower temps have to done at lights out. ive heared useing cold water and slowly working your way to ice water. some even lay ice cubes across the soil. im ok with just growing it out but to each his own

If you want purple bud then grow a purple strain. Stressing a plant into turning purple just sounds like bad idea.

Yes its true, ive made it happen twice, once with big bud & another time with top 44 skunk,in both cases i had to get the room temps below 60 degrees, most ac units are limited to only go to 60 degrees.

In both cases i used outdoor air temps brought in via fresh air intake fans, they will turn every bit a purple as a true purple strain.

yes they can turn purple but its bad for your plant. you can make a nute deficiency too and pull out some cool colors in the leaves but your not going to get good quality bud from it. just some colorful bud you probably wouldnt want to really smoke.

idk my tent get like 50F at night and close to 80F during the day when the light are on..they grow like 4-6in everyday in flower...i think its gotta be around 40F and under to really effect the plant when lights are off. unless mine are fucking warriors lol

Yeah i had three diff stains flowering and it was high 80s but then we had a old front of mid 50s but no coloration for me either.

it does work on some i pushed some dna sour cream (Original Sour Diesel x G13 Haze) with temp stess which caused nute lockout in a certain way (pottasium lockout).......................

No point to ..... why, as a novelty?
to see if i could ;) everything was kept in perfect order until last 3 weeks of flower, then took the intake from loft ( brrrr chilly ) instead of the house ( seriously controlled temp im like a snake ) which caused the lockout :) of couse i read about it first and the smoke was super and looked the part ( wish i took some pics under led :( )

..................sorry make that Phosphorus being locked out from cooler temps my mistake ;)

and the info i was reading at the time ;)...........................................
When your plants are deficient in phosphorus, this can overall reduce the size of your plants. Not enough causes slow growth and causes the plant to become weak, to little amount of Phosphorus causes slow growths in leaves that may or may not drop off. The edges all around the leaves or half of the leaves can be brownish and work its way inwards a bit causing the part of the leaves to curl up in the air a bit. Fan leaves will show dark greenish/purplish and yellowish tones along with a dullish blue color to them. Sometimes the stems can be red, along with red petioles that can happen when having a Phosphorus deficiency. This isn’t a sure sure sign of you having one though, but can be a sign. Some strains just show the red petioles and stems from its genes..................................:)
