Making FMCD from the bubblebox. Dry sift hash thread.

Thanks for dropping by mayan! I havnt yet gotten any of my dry sift to bubble. It really cleans up the hash nice, but I want those melty hits. The stuff that comes through the 104u should be full melt. And then the 70u cleans out any small contaminate. I just save whats on the black plate until it makes a nice pile.

First pic is of a finished white berry bud at 59 days. Next is the trim I used. You can see the at it is high grade. Next pic is of the chopped up frozen trim that will be sifted using a 220u workbag that had some small tears in it, but were using the good part to stretch over the collection bowl. Trim goes on top of that and a plastic bag pulled over the top and secured around the rim. Then agitated by constantly freezing it and beating the plastic with small bamboo sticks.
Now you'll see a picture that is out of sequence, 2 of them acctually. That is of the trim curing in a jar. Should have started the pictures with those 2 photos.
Now back into sequence you can see the build up in the bowl when I remove the screen. And a close up. Should have weighed all this out as well so I could have included that.
Next pic is all the sides scraped and is in a nice pile.
Next is the contaminated 220u on the first screen, 140u.
After that is a picture of whats left on that screen after quite a bit of sifting. Look at all that crap!
Next is the pile on the 104u. And then scraped towards the center before sifting. And lastly, the cleaned pile sitting on top of the 70u. This all should have been melty sift.
At this point Ive concluded that Im not sifting right. Im not collecting ALL heads. Theres lots of stalks in there. The trichs on this white berry have very skinny stalks and little heads, but theres so many of them. My next step will be sifting with just frozen trim and using a jewelers loupe so I know exactly what my sift looks like and I know when to stop. Apparantly the colder the bettr.

Nope, no bubble. I'll harvest some blue dream next month so we'll see what that does. Ive never even made ice hash with it just BHO. Practically ALL of my water hash bubbles. The jack herer I just harvested made some bad hash. It came out soft and malliable, was all blonde and shit, but it just blistered and burnt. I dont even want to grow that strain anymore. And they were sensi beans. Toatal shit.
But I think the secret lies in freezing temps, gentle agitation and a jewlers loupe. You just want the heads. And from what I can tell, your pile sitting on the 70u should be blonde sandy consistancy with sparkling heads like diamonds everywhere.

Thing is is that its not that great of a producer. I havn't seen this pheno on RIU. People were telling me my plants were defficient and thats why they were turning color. And the longer you let it go the more colors come out. But once I started growing this stuff regularly it was clear that those people were wrong entirely and that the color was genetic. And it was confirmed when I saw a picture in hightimes of a finished lavender/purp white berry.

Heres mine compared to a pic I found online. Mine is trimmed way better than the other one.

Made some blue dream dry sift and still no full melt.
I feel like I got taken on this bubbley dry sift thing. Havnt gotten it yet after running 4 strains through the thing. But it even says on the website that its contingent on the plant material.
So. The big question: how do you begin to search for the plant that is going to give you this ever elusive full melt dry sitf? What a f'n hassle.

You almost have it!!! you have to sift it through a 70 micron screen for it to bubble. trust me it will. If you have a macro lens for the iphone or something you can look and see the 100u still has a shit ton of stalks and shit from the plant that doesnt melt. it needs to be up to like 80% 90% containment free and 100u is only like 65ish percent haha
