making something illegal?

Im new on here hi :]

this might be a really stupid question but its been boggling me for couple days now and not really sure how to research it coz i dont know how to really say it.

if something is illegal and has no official study on it by the government how can it be illegal in the first place.

i know that the government wont let studys happen because it is illegal and supposidly no medical value which is bull but surely if it has no official government study on it shudnt be classed as illegal? sorry if this is stupid

This may be hard to believe... Richard Nixon got me to smoking herb! I was 17 and dead against herb back in 1971. I read that Nixon called for a "study" on cannabis. I thought to myself - What? If the president says it should be studied - it must not be that bad???

Nixon didn't like the results of the study so he had it shelved. In the meantime I became fully aware of the lies I had been told.


The government doesn't want herb legalized becasue they make more on it being illegal so they keep it a schedule 1 drug.

This will continue until damn near every state changes to embrace cannabis.

i was always againt cannabis when i was younger not that im old only 24 haha only started smoking about 3-4 years ago use to fall out with friends that smoked it because i was that against it but now im glad i smoke it and im glad i waited smoked on my own terms no pressure. just trying to figure out faults in the government laws to get it legalised quicker in scotland because in my opinion ofc that doesnt matter to government but anything that gets put into the ''illegal'' catagory shud have proper studys that shud be shown to the puplic for the public to decide on what shud be illegal or not. if im talking rubbish or not making sence let me know im not the smartest person

If there hasnt been Anything on it its legal.

For example i designed a legal form of "lsd" never been studied theorized etc. However in some areas "designer drugs" are illegal, anything that mimicks or closely resembles structure or gets you high basically. Youll have to check your state (possibly country) for more on that.

Until the cops bust enough people this a sort of legal gray area.
