Hello RIU! I am getting very close to beginning my first grow. It was a little delayed but that's life. Anyways I wanted to run my equipment list by y'all and had a couple questions to go along with. I am a noob and wanted to try and keep it pretty simple to start. So here is what my equipment list so far looks like...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181412198918?var=480520615943
http://www.ebay.com/itm/191039351389?var=490247387240 (two of these)
http://www.ebay.com/itm/181379661233?var=480369223582
http://www.ebay.com/itm/190941352432?var=490201852833
I was also planing on purchasing some smart pots(3 and 5 gal), humidity/temp monitor, 25 ft aluminum ducting, Botanicare's Pure blend line, a good organic bag soil, some oscillating fans, and a T5 fixture for clones(what i will be starting with). Anything I'm forgetting or anything i can improve on? So here are some of my questions....
I will be doing this in one half of my 700 sf insulated unfurnished basement(rental). Next to my basement I have a fairly large enclosed crawl space (also insulated and almost same dimensions as the basment just half the height). I planned on using one exhaust fan(the larger I think) to cool the lights and expel the hot air into the crawl space. I would use the smaller fan for air exchange for the plants using the air from the outside of the tent. Do this make sense and sound ideal? Btw there are two large windows in my basement. And my next questions is about my stains.. I will be purchasing my babies through Craigslist or at dispensaries in Denver. I only want to start with two types with one being Sour Diesel. My other i wanted to be an indica, that yields well, and is forgiving to noob like me. 10-12 plants max with half and half of each strain. Any suggestions on what? One of my top ten smoked strains was GDP and there are ads for it. However im not so sure if its a good strain for my skill level. Any suggestions, criticism, or comments would be greatly appreciated. THIS SITE IS AMAZING! MY MOST VISITED WEBSITE ON THE NET! Sorry had to say it. PEACE

Looks like you have the right stuff I would recommend looking into Gorilla tent but everything else seems good those fans are kinda loud so be prepared for that. The main thing is getting the environment on point before you get any plants and you have to factor in the humidity level once the plants are in,the humidity rises at night so a small dehumidifier can really help especially during flower.

I use the pure blend pro grow and bloom works great I wouldn't get everything they have on the provided feed chart ,a lot of that you can get cheaper with other brands just read the contents and I would recommend you get an enzyme product with a beneficial microbe soluble inncoulant, ZHO from botanicare is popular.

Think about your water source, depending on your situation you might need a scrubber if thats the case your going to need cal-mag and also a ph/ppm-e.c pen is always good to have around but after awhile i find myself not using it as much. Think about when you harvest and controlling the smell and where are you going to dry it. Also I would try get fresh air from outdoors as oppose to the room the tent unless you keep those windows open all day, you need all the co2 you can get .

Remember get that environment all ready and dialed in before any plants enter the tent so the plants will have nothing to do but grow!!! Enjoy the growing my friend welcome to the world of growing cannabis!!!

i would get a better tent. Gorrilla wat i'm getting next run, the weight, light leak issues on lesser tents is jus crazy, though the price on gorrilla tents is high. watch ur height in basement 80" tent needs least 83" to setup. if u got some constuction blood in u, u can build a tent from 2x2/2x4's and panda plastic,

Wow thank u for the info. Will definitely keep an I eye on humidity.....and will try to pick up a small humidifier if need be. I have heard that basement growing does produce a lot of humidity. I can't afford a gorilla. Wish I could. Can afford only about 12-1300 max. total. I didn't know those fans would loud. I live in a pretty big house....but would rather not hear the woman complain about loud noises. Can u recommend something more ideal that doesn't break the budget? I planned on using calmag but didn't want to mention. Wat do you mean by scrubber? RO? I definitely will try to get the environment dialed in before introducing the babies....awesome advice. Thanx Kali kid....cool avatar....Spain window grows right?

Definitely have not a lick of construction blood in me....and my spot is a rental. Rental company does yearly inspections. I liked the idea of being able to tear down/build up at will. I will be checking the height of the basement asap....however I'm pretty sure its higher than that. A gorilla tent is def out of the question peeps. Thanx for the advice Killem All.

You probably will not need a humidifier in the basement, but I would recommend and oscillating fan for circulation and moving your plants around. That air scrubber really isn't big enough for a tent that size. You might want a little larger exhaust fan too.

Got it. I will do some more research on hoods. Any suggestions? I liked what I have read about OG hoods but last I checked they were out my price range.

Im going to chime in....buying a small 2X2.5 gorilla tent is the best investment Ive made to date. Make sure to get the regular not the lite line.

I run raptor 8 but there kinda pricey but hydrofarm has some others that are cheaper and are pretty good hoods I bought a basic one from them for my 400 and its air cooled for 90 and it works great with a nice footprint
