Making your own nutrient solution

I know there have been many discussions on the subject of nutrients. I would love to see a tutorial on creating your own nutrients from basic chemicals. For example lets say I want to create a base nutrient 3-1-2 for veg and a 1-1-2 or 1-2-1 for flower that includes all the micros etc. In my case how do you find these chemicals in a big city without looking like a terrorist? I know you need stuff like potassium nitrate, calcium sulphate, magnesium sulphate , etc.

There is an awesome thread about this in hydroponics called "The lucas formula from scratch"

A poster details many of the weights of nutrient salts and where they can be purchased in the thread. You may need to search for it because it is locked and at least 2 weeks old.

there are also huge fertilizer companies that you can order npk fertilizer and pay for them like 10 kgs of 10 10 10 ive been to their sites, they are for commercial farmers but i think you can order from them if you really have a good npk

Thanks , Ill look for the thread. Ive used the Lucas method before and had decent results. There is a ton of theories regarding optimal nutrient ratios..... I guess we will have to wait for legalization before we see legitimate lab research on the subject.
