Male gone hermie. Ever seen this?

as the title suggests, I have a male that had nice purps in the flowers so I decided to collect some pollen to pollinate a fem that i have going that has purple pistils.

Anyways, this guy was the poster child for neglect and stress. He'd go, sometimes, a whole day with the droops from lack of water. I never repotted from the half gallon container he was in - and he was 5' tall and bushy as fuck.

So, when I went to cut the top for pollen collection, I noticed he was growin hair! He'd been clearly a male for a few weeks at this point. So now, I have this male who, in a last ditch effort, started growing female flowers.

Anyone ever seen this happen? I've heard of females throwin male flowers when stressed, and I've often wondered if it could happen the other way around. Seems like it did.

i've seen a few male hermies, not that rare
a male hermie that has fertile female parts is supposed to be rare
and is a desirable male according to DJ Short

Since cannabis is an androgynous plant, and the females exhibit this behavior as a survival mechanism, it stands to reason that males would exhibit that same characteristic. I guess 'cuz we kill of the males out of necessity, it's a rarely seen thing in our gardens.
