How much longer do you think its going to take? It grew like half inch up and a new full set of leaves just today.

I would lean towards most likely female you'll be able to tell for sure in a couple weeks. Check the FAQs it has pics of emerging pistils on female plants and yours looks more like a femaile than a male.

yea i was thinking the same. The node in the pic grew just today i saw it when i came home. No hairs yet but ill keep a eye out. Im stoked :) first plant ever.

Yeah I don't know how old yours is but it looks like you and I are at about the same point. Noobie here too, mine aren't even as far along as yours and I'm pretty convinced shes a SHE. Good luck dude.

looks to early BUT it kinda looks like there are a set of big fat nuts forming towards the upper part of the plant

might be male :(

Wow I don't know man, do all plants look like theyre forming pistils before they forms "nuts"? Hard to beleive that those long pears starting to open up are staminate....

well it still looks to early to tell but if i had to guess id agree with bcurwi1, but wait it out and see for yourself, my first plant ever turned out to be male, but it was a great learning experience

ill wait untill tonight and check on it see if you can tell better and update with a new pic. Thanks. Anyone else have a opinion?

Hey there bro, just a couple things for ya here. For flowering you should be at a 12/12 cycle, 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness to fool the plant into thinking its fall and forcing it to flower. The signs of being a female are pretty distinguishable. There will be literally 1 or 2 little hairs growing out of what looks like a small "pear", they won't look like anything else on the plant, when you see them trust me you will know. I too just discovered 2 of my plants are defiantely female (pretty darn exciting as this is also my first real grow) Now you have to look really close at first because they will be really small but when you see them you will know. Maybe you may want to get yourself a pocket scope from Radio Shack (bout 10 bucks) that will help ya. The best way I can describe it is a teeny tiny white hair or two. Second thing I wanted to mention is your best bet is to use a good flowering fertilizer, something low in Nitrogen and higher in Phosphate and Potash. I use Tiger Bloom from Fox Farms, it's a 2-8-4 fertilizer 2.0% Nitrogen-8.0% Phosphate-4.0% Potash. Also you may want to consider feeding them Molasses for the carbs they need during flowering. I'll be looking forward to the updated pics, if I see anything I will let you know. Unfortunately I cannot show you mine because my cheapo camera cannot take a close up if it's life depended on it lol Thats bout it from my end I wish you the best of luck man and hope your buds be sweet and strong!!!

Here's some pics I took recently. These are three different plants.

I'm not sure about the first one. Don't know if those are staminate primordia or calyx (pistilla primordia). Definitely no pistils to be seen. I'm hoping they show.

Second one is definitely female with distinct pistils.

Third one I'm almost sure is female--but it's pistils aren't as big as the other plant.

These three plants aren't exactly the same age--a few days apart from each other. And they may not be the same strain (miscellaneous bagseed)

They are 35-40 days old. I believe I started seeing pre-flowers on about the 6th or 7th node.

Interestingly, the large, distinct pistils (second pic) appeared at the site I attempted to FIM. You can see where I made the cut. Also, that plant's stalk snapped during LST almost completely in half. I splinted it and was somewhat amazed that it made a full recovery. Those two things probably had no impact on the timing and characteristics of the preflowers [shrug] but I'm mentioning it anyway.
