is there a way you can tell if a plant is male or female at the age of 4-5 weeks?

that's right about the age that they start showing preflowers, and you can generally tell by looking at them. I imagine there are male and female preflower pics on this site somewhere. if they're not showing preflowers yet, wait a bit.

males have pollen sacks and females have pistils.

so look for this by the nodes?
