I was planning a bit of pollen chucking and I've popped quite a few top breeder beans and as the title suggests, I've got a landrace Paki valley from WOS that is flowerin at 4 week old, wtf? Normal veg light cycle and this tent is in my bedroom, so I know the lights aren't f**kin up, not root bound, vegetation looks green and lush, no sign of nute burn or def. Just the plant has shot straight up to the light, is still really skinny and IS flowering.pmsl

The plant on the right in the 1st photo is the same age/strain and they're gonna go in their final pots next week, although I think the male can go in a smaller container now that sexing is done.

This throws up all kinds of questions for me:

Is this somehow an autoflowering trait? could ruderalis genetics be in there somehow? Would this make it undesireable for breeding with?

I know males generally grow taller/skinnier and flower before females, but are they naturally prone to flower during 18-6 light cycle?
On thinking about it, they were recently switched from 24hr light, could this have triggered it?

What are people preferred traits in a male? Potency, vigour, early/fast flowering, tall, short? I've build a small cab for flowering out a number of males, which will be pruned to one or two branches each, so if I can sex the males early and keep them in smaller pots, I could squeeze more in.

don't sweat it man, in my experience males can and will have a QUICK trigger for pollinating, in a way they sorta are kinda autos, but not in the traditional definition, just that they often will flower at a particular age, rather than light cycle.
fucken dudes... always dumping their loads prematurely
for me, I look for trichomes on the males, not really scientific but that's what I do

Yeah it's likely just a male but if it was an auto that would be awesome. I don't personally like auto flowers for indoor growing but for year round outdoor growing they are the shit! Gorilla grow off season for example.. ;)
