Just wondering if any onf you guys have had problems with the windows defender/vista defender malware. I have Mcafee and it usually catches stuff but this slipt right through. I got it from searching through audiobooks on Pirate Bay. It sucks cuz it replaces all .exe flies with itsself so it wont let you run anything untill you remove it. I have malware bytes now + mcafee. just wondering if anyone else encountered this problem

I am not sure if this can or will help you ... but ... do you know how to put your machine in 'safe mode' ?
Once you do that, run your scans. I am not sure if your Mcafee ..... will run in that mode .... but I know that
AVG 9.0 does ..... U can download AVG 9.0 free version (just google it(

Oh its ok i already had the problem taken care of. I was just wondering if anyone else here ran into a similar problem. Thanks for the input

yea it was a bitch. took 2 comps down. reformatted one and it still came back. dont know how it got me tho. now i got malware bytes, avira, and spybot s&d and it keeps the comps in check. pirate bay must be riddled with viruses cause i think sarah22 went through the same problems with pirate bay. i guess you run into that with all file sharing.

It most likely came from U visiting a rogue website .... with your Internet explorer .....do u use internet explorer ?? Am I right ??
