Ive also never smoked any weed, as good as I was growing in the 90s, under Halide, but the FBI got the strain.

Ive been smoking since 1967, and this suff was as good as anything Ive ever seen. And we have a verified Chem91skva cut, which has been measured at 32%+ THC, though that doesnt tell the whole story. But the stuff I had in the 90s, was so potent, it ran many of my customers off. It was grown under Halide, and Ive seen NOTHING grown under LED, or any other type lighting for that matter.

So, I know, for 100% for sure, Metal Halide, can grow as potent of weed, as any light source.

And the guy at MassMEdicalStrains also agrees, and he says he has experimented, and finds that more true expressions, like would take place outside, are better, under HID, and he spent 10s-1000s $$$$ on LED, and went back to HID.
He also says its strain dependent. And I agree. Just like some weed responds better to the Solacure bullbs, than others. Plants that come from higher UVA/B levels, respond better, than those that have not adapted to extremely high light/UVA/B levels.

Metal Halide, also gives off UVA/B, and does stimulate the UV8 receptor. Just dont use a glass shield in the reflector. The Solacure, is the most efficient/powerful.

While it doesnt show it, MH flatlines all the way to 2000nm+.

You normally get flicker on led from the old tech led chips from years ago or from crap old style drivers.

I have one ordered since late January, but I notice the website availability date slipping ... said mid-March, then late-March, now says early April.

After the Chinese New Year - there have been some supply disruptions. We are pushed out a few weeks. We will have better timing in the next couple of weeks as we secure all the supplies to build. Sorry for the delay and we will keep you posted.

Looks like a cool light!

I'm waiting for the next big trend to hit -that being lights with separate channels for all colors. Until then, I'll stick with the lights I have.

I think what is trying to be said is that the light companies need to get sales. Im not saying it is a gimmick. I was a 1000whps/400wmh magnetic ballast user, then 315cm vertical hoods with uv from hortilux, to led with uv mostly for efficiency. One common denominator is if your environment is not dialed it does not matter what light anyone is using. To the op sorry not to derail this and your inquiry into a finished grow with this light @boostedhonda

Yeah I get that,but I guess nothing great is cheap. It's $150 more than the mommoth 880w but appears to deliver a lot more of everything. And honestly my mommoth is good but the quality and finish of the unit was a little disappointing for the money.

Agreed. I'm not knocking it really. Just pointing out is a hefty price tag.

Late to join but after reading a lot of opinions I have to point out the obvious. What light is best isn't a cut and dry thing. Each good light has maxed out the potential in as many categories as possible. Each will do some things better than others. Which is best for you takes your situation Into account. How you grow, what you grow, what your goals are. Everyone has there own happy place as far as trading off quality for quantity. We have reached the point were Intensity is high in all lights. Uniformity is what really changes other than spectrum. If you want quality then the uniformity amd spectrum have to be addressed. I agree only a few lights do this well. Gml and mammoth are them. Gml has way more spectrum control but mammoth has a wider spectrum by a good bit. Not just the green, but the far red and uv.. unfortunely, you can only adjust the far red and uv. Which is great but not as good as gml. So that's the trade off with the 2 units. Gml for spectrum control and mammoth for an overall better spectrum that can't be manipulated as much. Though, it is enough to accomplish any morphological ques you want the plant to take. It's a hard decision. We don't really know the ratio of evo chips in either light to know which one gives more but the price of the mammoth gives it an advantage in price
