An amateur Gower friend of mine took some of my clones and we both grew the same strand. My buds were much bigger but when I saw his buds in the jar he left all the sugar leaves on and when I pulled them out they smell much better than mine. Is this an actual method or just coincidence?

Same situation here sorta. My neighbour and two friends grew same clones as me and though it's too early to tell what they'll be like in the end, they are all a bit different. Goes to show how many variables we are trying to reign in throughout this process.
I erred on leaving more sugar leaves on mine. Will be posting pics of my harvest in a bit tonight (not sure in which thread yet) so you can see how I did it. Figure that I can manicure as I go once it's cured. I've heard anecdotes for and against both schools of thought. Its another of those countless variables and it's not a make-or-break one either way IMO.
