just waiting on my pump. also i am going to order a 10 gallon 150psi tank on monday. ive decided to grow a legal crop, in a small 2x2 for my first run like a lot of other growers, just to get the bugs worked out, and so my dad can help. ill probably grow basil sog style, and sell it at the farmers market.

I had a thread some time ago, but kinda abandoned it & posted stuff in Trichy's wildly more popular thread, lol. I've tried a couple of dif chambers now. Both of which I wasn't all that satisfied with. I just ripped my room apart yesterday as I just finished a pretty disappointing crop. Too many things to list went wrong this time. Back to the drawing board. The nozzles I was using were .8 gph dig corp. The droplet size was great, but the mist didn't penetrate deep enough into my massive root ball. I'm gonna take a break for awhile and decide if I want to keep at this, or try to build more of a hybrid system. I know now why there aren't as many posted grows as there are people designing true aero systems. This is indeed a finicky bitch. Good luck to ya, and I'm counting on a few of you newbs to be successful. So don't screw it up. :)

this shit has been on my mind 24/7 lately. i have a pretty nice budget for this, and i really really want to do it right.
i think that if im going to be successful im going to have to just bite the bullet and go Air atomized, the system is so much simpler, oilless compressor,
air tank, 2 of aaa nozzles, regulator, 2 solenoids, some tubing connections, a quality timer and a bunch of other stuff i already own.

and then i have plans on how to build my chamber. im going to make it out of 2 inch Styrofoam, in a 48Lx48Wx18h cube ill slant it so i can drain to waste. and seal the corners with my putty . and then run 64 plant on top of it, in 2 inch net pots. for fertillizer im going to buy my own salts and mix them to fat mans aeroponic recipe.

Its best to walk before you run :) You could opt to build the hp into your 4x4 chamber and do a few runs to gain experience. You`d always have the option of upgrading to pressure fed AA later on. Pressure fed AA nozzles would incorporate all the hp hardware so nothing would be wasted. You`ll gain an extra bonus of having the hp in the chamber for backup.. in case the air compressor goes south, power outages etc.

yeah i just found out about pressure fed aa nozzles,

is a pressure fed nozzle the same as a siphon nozzle? and if i pressure feed my nutrient solution to an AA nozzle will i need less compressed air

Pressure fed can use slightly less air as they dont need air to draw liquid into the nozzle. Its not always the case and depends on the nozzle. Pressure fed have a wider range of adjustment than syphon but the two variables (air and liquid pressure) will interact unless you have an external mix nozzle.

hey so i have a C.A.P. art dne cycle timer, and its a piece of crap, no way i would trust it for 1 second aeroponic mist times.

ive been looking at this timer, but it bedazzles the shit out of me.

it has these 8 pins sticking out the back, rather than a 120volt plug, i found out i can plug it into this

but i cant find a wiring diagram online, theres one printed on top the unit, if i purchase this timer is it going to be hard to figure out how to wire it up?
i took one semester of electronics for diesel equipment, so im not completely lame, but i reallly cant remember much.

Wow, you found an old 422. I don't see why it wouldn't work. Atomizer sent me this diagram some time ago. The 120 volt power can be substituted with 12. It's super easy. I made it even simpler by using a single power source for the timer & solenoids by using jumpers on the 7 & 8 pins and the 1 & 2 pins. Like I said, super easy.

Exactly. You can't hurt anything by going over on the amperage. The 120 volt is just an option, but not necessary.

heres whats goin down. im working on turning four plants into mothers. they are clones off of two different serious seeds white russian plants, a reserva privada confidential cheese, and a dinafem powerkush.



2x4 growtent, 250hps, 2.7liter pots, and coco coir, with vermiculite. they are in need of a good punning, and tie down so i can yeild a more reasonable number of clones.

I am also sidetracked on this batch of white button mushrooms, they are of the long variety.:-P

i plan to take cutting on the 15th, in that time i need to

source all parts for timer. and build a board that will hold the timer and something i can run the timer to that i can neatly use to connect to all the different solenoids, i think that i need to connect to them in parallel, does that sound right

find decent nozzles and decide on how many i will need to buy so i can order a few more than i need, this is hard as people are definitly more open about what nozzles they are using for AA missions than they are for hydraulics setups.

order pressure regulator.

decide on plumbing, order pressure tank[ten gallons 150psi.]

build 3foot by3foot by 18inch styrofoam chamberseems right for 600 watts hps. one lid for 50 clones. one lid for 32 plants, the best of 50clone subjects

Glad you still had the diagram Mike, i would`ve been hard pushed to find it :)
Oxanaca, If you want the run the timer and solenoids on 12vdc, you`ll just need to put in a link (jumper) from pin 7 to 8 and another from pin 1 to 2 on the octal base. So you can follow the diagram, Pins 2 & 7 supply the timer with power, and Pins 1 & 8 are the relay commons. As Mike said, make sure you get the right timer model or you wont be able to use it on 12v.

Go for a power supply with a bit more current than you need, dont forget the timer circuit and relay will take a little. Make sure you get a regulated supply, an unregulated will have a much higher no load voltage.

No reason that should've hurt. You found a retro version of the timer alot of people use, at half the price. It's probably built with better components as well. I know one or two people have used the plastic soleniods with no issues. I'd stay away from the brass though.

I dig your mushroom growin skills. I can tell you know what you're doing.

hey mike

i read somewhere in the true hp aero thread that you said you were using, bio controls nozzles, and then it said that u were switching to dig nozzles from home depot, did those give you any kind of results.
