Trump says ‘temperature has to be brought down’ after Mar-a-Lago search
Former President Trump said on Monday that his aides reached out to the Department of Justice (DOJ) to offer “whatever we can do to help,” saying the “temperature has to be brought down” after a spike in threats to law enforcement following the FBI’s search of his Mar-a-Lago estate.
“People are so angry at what is taking place,” Trump told Fox News.
“Whatever we can do to help — because the temperature has to be brought down in the country,” he added. “If it isn’t, terrible things are going to happen.”
The FBI executed a search warrant at Mar-a-Lago one week ago in connection with its investigation into whether Trump violated the Espionage Act and other federal statutes. Agents allegedly seized 11 sets of classified documents from the estate, although Trump has claimed he declassified the material.
The search has set off waves of criticisms of the FBI and DOJ from Trump and his allies, who argue the investigation is politically motivated. Some have called to defund the agency.
A new intelligence bulletin reportedly warned of a spike in threats to federal law enforcement following the Mar-a-Lago search, referencing an incident on Thursday at the FBI’s Cincinnati field office in which an armed man allegedly tried to breach the building.

it’s worse than that. Once someone has associated a [false] belief system with an emotional reward, returning to reason fails for most of us. Not crazy, not mean*, but a universally human sort of quite stable divorce from a less rewarding reality.

A caning would be a win for that man; he could claim special treatment.
Worse and better is to have the civil and criminal justice systems slowly neutralize him - entirely by the book and on the objective properties of the case.
That’s why I am developing a lot of respect for AG Garland. I think he is one of the few of us who would yield the same performance were he bored or exultant or enraged.

One of a few ex FBI guys who are doing well financially as legal and law enforcement consultants on TV, many of them have a hard on for Donald and I figure so do most G men. Garland has Donald by the nuts and can drop the hammer on him anytime he pleases, so Donald has been trying to tone down the threats against the FBI.
All this shit and death threats mean that Donald will need to be kept at a maximum security facility for the safety of the staff guarding him. Donald has a large domestic terrorist following, so forget a villa somewhere and house arrest. A cell is cheaper and requires fewer secret service agents.
