i did NOT say that and i think i saw somewhere already you were white and i wasnt making any racial point towards you. you live there, repping, and standing up for the people so im calling them YOUR PEOPLE.

I totally understand where you are coming from, but many people post here because we have all built some relationships/repertoire with others. Why do you come to the politics section if it does not interest you ? Its simple to not click the politics link.

well my point is he has over 4300 posts and 75 of them are in grow related sections. if hes here to talk politics then he should go to a forum thats based around politics. dont know how he found his way here. and as far as me posting here i find threads through the new posts section so im all over the site. but MOST of my posts are in grow related topics.

Well this is quickly becoming a black eye for Mexico. He registers the gun (an antique shotgun) with US border patrol he has the paper work to bring it back in the US. He tries to register the antique shotgun at the Mexican border they arrest him. They put him in general population and chained him to a bed the US state dept. had to pull some strings to get him unchained and put in survivable conditions. According to his lawyer they have trumped up charges and have tried to force a guilty plea when his lawyer was not present. His lawyer admitted his Marine training is the only thing that has saved him. This guys has multiple tours in Iraq and Afghanistan with documented gun battles, his hunting story checks out, he followed the rules. I assume this isn't the way you figured this would turn out Abandoned?

No, he broke the law. The news stories are very skewed but they were the only ones I could find in English. First off, Guns are illegal in Mexico and he knew it. He thought he could bring it with him to get a license but he would not have gotten a license anyway. Furthermore, the US is on very thin ice with Mexico already over bringing guns in (see Fast and Furious).

There are signs like this on every road leading into Mexico. Why do so many Americans think they are an exception to the law?

Well it's obvious he had no ill intent chaining him to a bed is that Mexican hospitality? Do you really think the US gives two shit what a narco state thinks of us?

i think the bolded part is where you missed the mark, i don't think they think they are exceptions but rather assume there are proper measures you can take to meet the requirements of the law while still not forfeiting something we have become very accustom to here in the US. Here, normally, there is a permit for nearly anything if you are willing to pay for it and have a clean record.

what % of Mexicans that are in the US know all the laws (and they have presumably lived here for some time). Obviously there are plenty of signs on your way to Mexico to inform you about guns tho, but like i said most assume there is a permit they can buy and are accustom to having the right to approach an authority and willing clear up any lack of understanding without being made an example of.

an example of this would be the numerous "old" people who have accidently grew pot in there flower gardens only to later realize its illegality and are never prosecuted. Some have even called the cops on themselves after getting tipped off about what the plant was. we have become accustom to reasonably rational reactions here in the US and that's just not how it works in Mexico.
