Markings in the woods

Hi everyone so recently i've been looking for a spot to grow in the woods nearby.

There is a strip of woods about a mile long and a few hundred feet wide, but all throughout the area there are pink/orange ribbons about every 50-100 yards on some trees.

A couple years ago i saw some people going back there that seemed to be state workers. which is probably what they are from, but does anyone have any idea what they could mean?

I don't really ever see anyone go into the woods so it doesn't seem like anything has been going on for a while. There was rumor they might be building houses there a few years ago but nothing seemed to ever come from it.

Any thoughts? let me know what you guys think

I think those are ribbons that mark what trees to cut down?

Might have been setting up to clear the forest?

they either mark trees to cut or trees to save when building but if its been years they may have lost funding in the housing market drop so they may not come back. you can call you county records office to see if plans have been filed for building or clearing of that land.

Yeah those are land surveyers, i wuldent chance it. Maybe 1 or 2 so if they fined it they don't do surveylence on it. They will just chop it.

If there marking trees to cut they use orange spray paint. It's faster then ribbon.
