Guess if I want a chance to win I have to play....

Picked up a Mars Hydro ts1000 last year. Has removable driver and dimmer switch. I like having the option to keep the driver separate and having the dimmer switch hung at a convenient spot.
My experience so far has been great for my needs atm...
I've done zero vegging so far under this light but it has done Very well in flower. Covered 2 plants over a 2x3 canopy flawlessly.
Now for this run and contest entry I'm going to do it a little different. I'm going to put the ts1000 in my veg tent over some rooted, and some rooting clones to start.
Sorry but ill come back later with more details. You'll have to come back to find out...

Alright! Got the Mars ts1000 in place. Had to get a little creative in this tent. Being able to remove that driver and dimmer came in clutch @MarsHydrofactory
So what I got here is..
-2x3x3 diy veg tent
- granddaddy purple clones. (Started from seed..she's in flower)
- 100% coco coir rinsed and buffered by yours truly
- GH flora series 3part cal/mag and kool bloom
- feed chart in photos. I feed once a day on the big 2. Solo cups will get food every 2 maybe. Fresh clones misted daily sitting in rapid rooter plugs.
I have the light dimmed to 50% so round 75w I suppose. Only 14" from canopy. We'll see how things go. I might have to monkey around and raise the ceiling. Well I thinks that's all I have tonight. Updates to come!!20220130_184927.jpg

Well the Mars room got empty quick. Decided I better throw my 2 bigger GDP clones into the flowering room today. So for now not alot to look at. 2 rooted clones in solos. 3 waiting under the dome.
Lights dimmed to 75% (100w+/-) hopefully that's not to much for these little girls. Even with the driver in the tent it's still pretty chilly at only 73F. Added a heat matt to keep em warm

Veg room20220206_175738.jpg has been stable. But slow. The clones are just not taking off like they usually do. Not to sure why. Humidity could be better I know. Added a humidifier tho it's not having the effect I wanted.
I exhaust the veg room into the flower room where the carbon filter is, then blast it outdoors. The humidifier has effected my flower room way more then the veg room it's sitting in. Wich I'm not complaining to much as flower RH is now in the 40's. Was only 20's prior
Flower room seems to be okay. Did some training and light pruning yesterday on the bigger clones. Current canopy size is 2x2' as soon as their damn mom finishes flowering I'll push em closer. and increase light wattage
This girl just finished 10 weeks flowering and still no amber. She's swelling and I'm waiting... I guess. Buds keep falling over so I keep tieing them up.
Debating whether I'll use a trellis for this next 2. Or a single 36" stake in the middle. If buds get heavy I can tie to the top of stake instead of the damn light.
Noticed a fan was on but not working today... turned off/on again and it started working... went ahead and ordered another 2 for back ups. Can't be caughtfan less!!
Any input welcome

Well the only difference in my cloning game is there is no mom plants shading the clones. Should have known to much light was the problem. Dimmed the ts1000 down to 40% and the clones have been doing much better. Plan to increase 5-10% a week to ease them into it. I topped the ones in solos 2 days ago.
Flower room is getting crowded. Momma needs to hurry up an finish. She's hardly drinking a 1/2 gallon a day. I'm hoping to see some indicators of harvest any day now. Her 2 clones are 3x the size. Wanting multiple feeds in their 3gal pots. So decided to setup some automated irrigation. Timer set to feed 30 min after lights on. For 5 minutes (10% runoff). And again 6 hours later for 4 minutes. Today's the first day so we'll see how the plants respond. Fingers crossed :blsmoke: whole setup (pump, res, line kit) $45 US.

Clones are coming along nicely under the ts1000. Transplanted 2 of them into 1gal fabrics. Debating keeping the 3rd or tossing.
Plants in the flower room are loving the auto feed I setup.
Oh and totally forgot about the other stickers I had left from @MarsHydrofactory. So got those put up for you guys ;) If I manage to win a new light. These are the clones that will be flowering under it. They will veg here untill the flower room is empty. So should be another 2 months of veg. Perfect size for a nice new, brilliant Mars LED:hump:

Well I finished... I forgot to refill the humidifier in drying room so I only got a 5 day hang instead of my preferred 7 but that's okay..
1 gallon coco
Trained and took 4 clones
Flipped at 30 days from seed
Shared the TS 1000 with 1 other plant
Trimmed weighed and jarred. I didn't weigh the trim and larf bag. Maybe 1/2 once
96 grams of jarred, stanky granddaddy purple
(I only got 50g off the auto it was with so total of 146g off the 150w TS1000. I think I could have done better if I didn't miss a few waterings and try to kill em :wall: )
Overall. I wont complain. And hope I can wait at least a week of curing before sampling:weed:20220221_181025.jpg

Well this might have been the best run yet. At least with the end product....
looks great.. Hints of purple surrounded by bright green. And full of trichs
Smells GREAT. Like sour/sweet yet fruity. And strong
Taste wonderfully. Again with the sour/sweet n fruity.
The high is right up there with what I like. One bowl is plenty good to feel but keep moving if I want. 2 bowls and I'm staying where I'm at for sure lol
This was the FIRST time I've fed with nutes up to the very last day of harvest. And I love it. I'm not saying that's what made this crop the best. Just saying it definitely didn't harm the end result in any way!

These plants must be transpiring like crazy. My humidity just been going up. And I'm not liking it. Got bad bud rot last year. At some point in the dark period it got to 64%rh! in the closet.
I've been only running exhaust one oscillating fan during dark. But switching all fans and intake to 24/7. See if that helps me.
I had popped in a dehumidifier but within 45 min it raised the temps up 4F and hadn't touched the RH. (Had a shot worth of water in it tho) So I unplugged for now. No real convenient place to put it either. Any thoughts on placement to be most effective... if I have it like in the pic the vent blows the hot air at the plants. I read somewhere to hang them obove the light if possible? I have room to do that tho my carbon filter would be bout 16" above that ( light, dehuy, filter/ exhaust) ao doesn't make much sense in my case.
Anyways. Plants are looking really good... almost to good. I get scared when things are going well. They've been giving off a musty smell I'm not to fond of. Even prior to humidity spike. Their mom didn't do that but she was small compared to these. And the closet wasn't as crowded.
I removed the plants last night and noticed the closet didn't really stink and it was the plants. Seems to be focused on the canopy. Clean the the room while I jad them out anyways.20220227_175938.jpg

And the veg tent. Leisurely growing. But thats okay. They have at least 8 weeks to veg and be trained before going into the bloom room :D
Trying to germinate a purple kush seed I found (didn't know I had 1 left) 24hrs in water, into moist paper towel n bag. 3 days and hasn't cracked:cry: I'm thinking a loss

now that the contest is over we'll see how long I actually keep this journal going :D

Well with the major humidity spikes and the musty smell something had to be done!! And fast. Blasted a bigger hole in the wall so i could put 6" ducting through. Made this a Y fitting from from some plastic jars and added an additional 4"exhaust fan. Humidity DOWN. Temps down. Musty smell is now just plant smell. Both temp and RH fluctuate much less between lights on and off. I'd call it bout perfect. We are back in the race!!20220305_180729.jpg20220305_180746.jpg20220302_230045.jpg

Start of week 6 in flower tent. Last time this strain took 12 weeks
Noticing some possible problems on some leaves. ph in the res got a little high at 6.5 Has been corrected to 6.0 Hoping that's the cause.
Veg tent week 4 or 5. (3rd back up clone in cup)
Purple kush seed never sprouted. So trying another. Planted directly into coco watered with 2.5 calmag and 1ml fish shit (as I got a free sample) Ph 6.0. Never done it this way so I'll see. Idk y I have such problems germinating seeds. These ILGM seeds seem 50/50 on germ. And some of the smallest seeds I've ever seen.
I need a new seed recommendation. Ship to US please20220309_191143.jpg20220309_191232.jpg20220307_202533.jpg20220310_181927.jpg20220310_181853.jpg

Well damn. I found a nanner today. Need to pull plants out and do full inspection. Thinking these have at least 5 weeks left. So I foresee a few seeds in this harvest :-| not sure what cause this. Updayday.. last humidity spikes...oh well.
Otherwise everything's looking great
I admittedly removed the Mars ts1000 from the veg tent and went back to my old screw in l.e.d. I just wasn't loving the growth and overall looking health. I think I need I higher ceiling to use the Mars for vegging. I feel they are look better. They're gunna be bigger than I'm used to by the time flower room frees up20220315_192632.jpg20220314_202224.jpg

Looking good. You can just pluck that nanner, and keep watching for more. You're getting close to harvest, so I wouldn't worry too much about seeds.

And water will neutalize the pollen, so it's not that big of a deal really.
