Mars Quantum or Philzon Cob?

The Mars is passively cooled, its more white based spectrum, it uses better drivers.

The Phlizon has fans that could fail which would burn out the light fast, more red/blue based spectrum and they only slapped in the cheapest cobs they could because COB sells lights. It will use cheapest parts it can.

Mars are upping their game slowly, but they still have a way to go, be nice if they could just call it a Mars TS450w, they might get more people interested in their products then.

Hi all,

For my budget I’m torn between the Mars TS 3000 or the Philzon 2000 Cree Cob. It will be going into a 4x4 tent.

Both have great reviews and draw 450watts.

I know HLG are better, but they are too expensive. Which light would you choose out of these 2?

Thank you for your input.
Of those two, I'd go with the Mars, for the reasons @coreywebster gave.

The Spider farmer appears to be a great value, but little seems to be known about it.

Good idea asking here on RIU, I do not trust most internet reviews!

Wow did not know they get a kick back. Do you think their results are accurate or does it look like a scam?

Who knows? Those aren't Quantum Boards from Horticultural Lighting Group. They are no name boards from china and they are just cashing in on HLG's good reputation.

These are HLG Quantum Boards. https://horticulturelightinggroup.com

What results? They don't do any testing, they just publish manufactures specs, add some commentary and earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

Dude look into Spider Farmer, they make budget Quantum boards like Mars but with Samsung chips :)

The Phlizon looked cool to me but it sez best intensity is 3x3 and the chart show some pretty dark edges even at 3 feet, but very intense right in the center.. seems like the spread of a 4 board Quantum setup is better....
The SF 4000 look great and the videos online show wide coverage with little drop on par values on the outer edges.

I’m thinking 4 of these in a 8x10 flower room. What do you think?

What's your budget OP?
The best price/performance I think the Spider farmer 4000 lights offer that. I picked one up and It’s my first run with it. I’ll let you know about performance. One thing I do like is the brightness and colour remind me of my 1000w HPS.

TS 3000 will be the good choice, :weed::leaf::bigjoint::bigjoint:

# TS3000: Veg 5'x5', flower 4'x4'

1) Quantum board design with the newest SMD tech. More durable and longer lifespan.
2) The light is white color and full spectrum. More similar to sunlight.
3) 30% higher light efficiency than the purple LED. Save 30% power bill.
4) PPE is 2.15 to 2.57umol/J. The plant can grow bigger and faster.
5) Max yield up to 2.5 g/W dried buds. Cost-effective: Very affordable for indoor growers.
6) Dimmable meanwell driver, adjust wattage and brightness
6) extra extention cord added, move driver outside easily

If you're looking at those..... why not instead just jump on alibaba and grab a kingbrite, bava or Meijiu.
Ignore the naysayers, fanboys and shills.
If your budget is one of the two lights you mentioned, you'd best be served grabbing a Lm301b board from China. (same place those two lights you're looking at are produced....)

Thanks for the reply. Those brands have tons to choose from, what would be comparable to a Mars 3000 or SF 4000? Booth use 450w power for4x4 bloom

Thanks for the umol/j on the light. SF4000 which also draws 450w claims 2.7. I’m torn between the MH3000 and the SF 4000. The SF4000 is a bit more expensive, but more efficient. Anything I’m missing that would convince me to go with the MH3000? I’m looking at purchasing 2 of them.

For your 4x4 I’d go with two 240 watt boards.
Two 320 watt - 800’s would be even better.

Two 240 watt boards would be around $300.
