I just picked up the backup heater. Just in case the space heater I have now burns up, I have a backup :)

All I need now is pots, soil, and - when I get the money - Reflectix.

Before you did the 12/12 did you do a 36 hour dark period before? I hear it really helps get things going. Maybe next time?

Fox Farms rules...no joke.

Papaya 1,2,3 are 3 weeks old. Papaya 4 is close to 3 weeks and Papaya 5 is 2 weeks and 1 day.

Aurora 1 is almost 3 weeks, Aurora 2 and 3 are close to 3 weeks.

The exact dates are further back in the thread. I only really care about keeping tabs on the times of the youngest and the oldest ones.

If I can restrain myself...I am going to start doing weekly pic updates. So, starting today when the oldest plants are 3 weeks old (from cracking soil)...here is the first 'weekly pic update'. I'll put more pics up next Tuesday. I'll also try and remember to use the good camera.

I can't wait to see how quick your babies start flowering. It will give me an idea about how long it will be for me.

Did you get your papaya seeds from Nirvana?

man, i go away for a few days and your thread goes crazy @#%#@$^. thats good though, things are looking great.

i know about the dark period, it is good to also stop your plants from stretching a whole lot when they switch to the red light. so far all my plants have been more of the bushier type and i actually want them to stretch out a bit just to give them some space between bud spots. i have one though that is doing good w/o the stretch so she will get the closet for some time first.

thats good you have stopped your footprints in the snow. that could attract attention.

theres surely no problem transplanting in flower, just make sure not to disturb the root structure and they will continue like nothing happened. i promise.

i see you just got your heater, thats a great thing, i was actaully thinking of your sitution this morning. do you have the room to let it help heat the room too? that may keep the heat more balanced resulting in less dry/wet pot ratio. just an idea, you obivilously have things under control. it would also garentee that you didn't miss the heater dying by 12 cold hours later.

i'm wondering about that clone? did i miss it? will you be taking any clones from these?

all is great! how's holland btw?

Things did go nuts in here while you were away, met some new grow friends :D

The heater I bought is actually just a backup in case the one I have now burns up. I don't think it will. The whole area is insulated pretty well and holds heat well. The heater sits where it sits now because it's a smaller space and the heater doesn't run as much. I don't think there is much I can do about the pots temperature...I actually think it's ok for now. They are growing really well. I really just wanted to have a backup heater in the unfortunate event my current heater burns up...I mean, it IS a cheap 25 dollar heater that runs constantly... I'd just hate to freeze my little friends. I want BIG tasty nuggets of green come harvest time...don't want to effect yield at all.

I haven't got the grape ape clone yet. The dude lives an hour away and we just haven't met up yet. Hopefully soon.

Holland is always great. You should visit ;-).

BTW...I picked up 8 three gallon flower pots today. These are the ones I'm using for flowering. They were out of Ocean Forest soil at the store...so I'll have to pick up a bag next week. I don't need to transplant for another probably 2 weeks.

I also bought some rooting hormone JUST in case I decide to do some cloning. I have some of those seedling/clone starter cubes I bought a month or so ago...I'm ready if I want to clone.

Okie dokie...things are moving along nicely. The tallest plants are the AI's - about 8 inches. The papaya's are between 6-7 inches, except for the younger...what I now call, the runt. I can't wait to upload some pics on Tuesday to show you all the progress. I may be going to 12/12 a few days sooner than expected, we'll see how it goes. There is some good branching going on, it's nice to see stocky little babies :).

Like I said before, because I am attempting a Sea of Green style grow, I am beginning flowering when the majority of the plants are 12 inches tall. I want to wait for the papaya's to get to 12 inches. If the AI's are 14-15 inches, that's fine.

Every gallon of water gets a teaspoon of Grow Big and they all get watered nearly every 2-3 days.

Some housekeeping items...I still need to insulate with Reflectix because frost is still melting on the roof.....it's not too bad though. I also need to pick up another bag of Ocean Forest. I'll probably get the soil first thing next week and be ready to transplant these bad GIRLS ;-).

Keep on Keeping on.

every watering? i heard it was hard 2 burn w/ organics. it looks like its only a good thing at ur spot, i might bump up the growbig...

what r ur plans 4 the sea of green?

the melted frost is somewhat funny.

Yup, every watering...no burning going on yet. I think if anything will give me nute burn it will be the Tiger Bloom (during flowering). It's not entirely organic, we'll find out ;-).

My plans for sea of green is just basically that keeping my plants short will help me get a quicker turnaround time on harvests. My goal is to do this entire grow in 3 months. 1 month veg, 2 months flower. If I grow lots of plants, but grow them short, I should get shorter grow times and get the same or more yield that I would get growing full sized plants.

After this I am only probably gonna grow feminized seeds or clones...and do only 2 plants at a time. This current grow will get me enough smoke to hold off until I feel like growing again... Also, 2 plants are easier to manage than 8...like I have now... The 2 plants would be full sized.

it would be hard to put together. but i'm sure someone could do it. i think really though somehow they would have to know it can happen. so that throws out like 75% of neighbors right there. its safe for now.

fewer are easier 4 sure.

did you do anymore dances yet??

I'm actually not that worried about the frost and/or snow. I'll fix it when I get the cash for reflectix.

I want to dance every time I get to be with the babies...which isn't as much as I'd like. Imagine when it smells like fruit! Plus...those aurora indica's are supposed to turn purple...at least some do. That's even more fruity!

BTW...all the plants look good...however, I am keeping my eye on a couple....possibly 3. I hate to think this way..but, a couple may be dudes...mostly on the AI side. I AM a newb though...so I am not talking from experience. I just hear that males grow less uniform than females...and that's what I am basing my assumptions on.

I'm still hoping for all girls...even though my 400w light is probably only good for 6 REAL GOOD plants.
