Mason jar question

Should this jar be for canning? I came across some super cheap ones at biglots all glass but they said not for canning. I know canning ones will be air tight and theses ones may not be. I have an idea they should be for canning. But I just wanted to be sure.

if you can find a pic it would help. 100% airtight is not necessary, but you would want to aim for something that is at least close, at least i would think so.

If you are going to cure them for a long time i would go for the 100% air tight ones. It's exactly like with coffee. If you want to save the bouqet you want to... well save it ;O).
I get mine at a second hand flea market. I wash them up very well so they'll be like new - about $1-2 each. Second hand glass is almost as good as the new stuff ;O))

Get proper mason jars with the metal clips rather than the cheaper screw top. I can get them all over round here but they are a little pricey - I paid €42 for the jars to store my 44 ounces this year - but once it has all been smoked/sold I will still have the jars.

All my stuff is in jars which formerly contained everything from pepperocinnis to strawberry jam. It's amusing to see a sauerkraut jar full of dope on the bookshelf :)

how do ya make that?? I have a jar that is really coated...
as stated in a following post there are many many jar hash techniques but I personally take a exacto knife gently dip the tip in grain alchohol (not rubbing alchohol! like a strong vodka) occasionally to help me loosen up those sticky sticky hard to scrape trichomes and it comes off quite easily.

I bought mine at Safeway. They work great and if you don't have a Safeway, they probably have them at any major chain grocery store. Good luck to you.

Would the ceramic ones for coffee be just as good or should I stick with glass?
Ceramic jars are pretty porus - have you ever noticed that after a while the sugar gets all hard & lumpy when stored in one of these?
Its absorbing water from the atmosphere "through" the jar.

Any glass container with a lid that has a rubber seal . The rubber seal is what counts so it's airtight . As it should be airtight who wants their bud losing moisture unless u cure that way i guess then switch to air tight.
