People are making too big a deal of this incident. Sure it was bad, but it happens. People can die at any given moment at the hands of a whack job, for any reason.
Public shootings are on an exponential rise because of population growth, and as such the exponential reproduction of mentally-ill people is going to continue.
I expect to see public shootings like this every other week, 20 years from now.
Going to the mall with an AR-15 slung around your shoulder for protection, all the sudden won't be crazy, sometime in the near future.
Get used to it, because it's about to happen more, and more, and more.

Some countries with the strictest gun control laws among the world, have the most deaths per capita with firearms. Prime example is Brazil, and the list continues on, well beyond that. These anti-gun advocates use these "gun-control" statistics, as a foundation to prove "why lack of gun control kills people", but when the statistics they use themselves, prove them wrong, they conveniently ignore them.
