She's doing ok. No more than a week before I flip the switch. I might top her tomorrow... Still undecided.

Peace

Lookin good brotha, just screwed up the last post hopefully I can get this one right. So I was wondering how the hell you get her so bushy? How close do you have your light?? Props again man, she looks great!! So I flipped the switch on my afghan about 5 days ago, and shes stretchin like hell. Fillin out the screen nice, just threw the 600 on her yesterday so well see how she likes it!! Also I got some white widow x nl on each side of the afghan. The 1st 3 pics are of just the afghan tho! Hope you enjoy, cant wait to compare these strains!! :eyesmoke:

Great grow! I should have tuned into this a long time ago- I'm currently using 6 24-26 watt CFLs. Day 2 of flower, had to cut my veg short due to work related reasons so I wont get the yeild I originally hoped to have; however when I do have time to fully veg the time I would like I hope my scrog looks like this one

Those look sweet, dude. Looking forward to seeing the screen doing its job when the flowers start to bloom. I wish I had a 600 to throw into my box.. I can imagine how dense your buds will be come harvest time.

I keep my lights (two 125w cfl bulbs) about an inch away from the top of the plant, maybe less. I check it and adjust the height most days to avoid the top getting scorched (although a little burning does happen once in a while). I've been pretty fortunate with my last few grows - all my plants, regardless of the strain, seem to stay really short and bushy until they go into 12/12. If it isn't due to the light proximity to the plant, then I don't know how I do it. Luck? Rastafarian Gods looking watching over me?

Keep the updates coming, brother.

Thanks man! Don't get too down about a lower yield - there is no substitute for quality, home-grown cannabis flowers.

Im subed
Did the amnesia good stuff
Pull up a chair!

Yeah, the Amnesia was decent. Not the most fragrant or tasty flowers I've grown, but it was a good evening smoke. It felt much more like an Indica than a Sativa, which is what it is supposed to be.. What was really awesome about it, though, was how easy it was to grow, and the final yield (about 90g I think) from one plant under CFLs. Here are a couple pics just before harvest:

The Maui is a terrific smoke, both is taste and smell. It isn't as 'mild' as I though it would be. Too much of it during the day will put me to sleep for half an hour.

A few pics of the Afhgan Kush (flipping the switch in a few days when her current dose of veg nutes is absorbed):

Damn, that thing just keeps gettin bushier, cant wait to see how she looks come flower. Lovin it SunnyJim! So for a little update on my afghan; shes 19 days into flower and budding pretty nicely compared to my chrystal which is the same age. Although it also looks like my afghan is a little sensitive to my super soil, and my others arent so bad. Guna spray em with some calmag here in a few days.. Have you had to go lighter on you nutes at all with your afghan?? Hope you enjoy! bongsmilie

Nice! Loads of bud sites on those ladies. They should turn out great!

Yeah, since the Waui was nute-sensitive, I decided to lower the doses for this grow, but not by much. Still, the Afghan seems to be doing well on this schedule.

She's a little under a week into 12/12, and starting to stretch. I haven't put the screen in yet, but if I do, it'll have to be done this week sometime. The top of the plant is at the height the screen will be, so hopefully she'll start to stretch through it over the coming weeks. Thankfully, she's naturally flattening herself out. I haven't done any training on her yet, so it looks like she doesn't need much help sunbathing.

This thread gives me extra hope for my ScroG. :) I plan on starting a second one soon and seeing the yields with just a few plants is very encouraging. Grow Big!

What is the concept of scrog? I can't wrap it around my head. What exactly does the net do? I mean it seems like the tops just grow thru the netting, I don't understand what is the point?

Follow the link Sunni posted.

The short version is that it's a way of keeping the plant's canopy flat. By moving the plant around under the screen, you can "train" the plant to grow a specific way to maximise light exposure to many bud sites.

This technique is handy for CFL growers, as CFLs have poor penetration through foliage.
