Max number of plants for tent

Hi Guys
I have a 3m x 3m tent with 4 x 1030w Maxibright LED's.
I was originally going to try 42 plants in there, but have been advised that's too many to expect a decent yield.
Any opinions would be appreciated?

So 4120w should ideally get me 4120g?
Ya, that's a good goal. You can grow lots of smaller plants or less bigger ones. You should just decide how you want to grow them. Sea of green, scrog, or what. Since you're probably going for quantity a bunch of smaller plants with a shorter grow cycle would probably get you more than bigger plants grown with longer cycles. It just depends what you want to do.

You can get more than 1 gpw with LEDs or not more than 0.5 gpw. Depends on how you grow your plant. For your tent i would go for 8 plants (2 plants for each light) with 7-8 gal pots. Topping, LST, scrog, supercropping and you have monster plants with monster yield. Or you can go sog and fill every inch of your room with 2-3 gal pots.

So as you can see it's depends what style and how you want your plants.

What is your skill level at? Is this your grow? I did a lot better learning how to grow the max out of one plant first which could replace the number 42 to like 12 and get better quality and much less hassle. Scrog all day.

I would size it like one plant per 2x2 or 2.5x2.5 of space. cramming anything more in will be a challenge unless the plant is not reaching its prime.

Edit: with scrog and photo, forget about it lol. As big as you want it. Please post that as those are always amazing to see.

I keep thinking I know enough....to realise I know nothing.
Had a few turn out OK, but maybe less is more plant wise. (Might try 16 (4 per light) and see what it yields.
Thanks.
None of us can know everything. If this is your grow and new to this, but want the best, I did great with coco and learning to scrog one big plant at a time.

I see large grows use coco for that reason. Consistent. Takes care if itself. On to the next problem.

learning to max out a plant, I can now look at large spaces and go “forget about it” lol I am just shy away from being a rookie. Just takes a few runs. You can do it!

There are endless variables to consider. I put clones into 12/12 as soon as they are viable. I could probably get fifty into your space and still have room to walk around. Other growers like to veg for weeks or months (why???) and they end up with giant plants with a lot of colas, and you'd probably be lucky to fit ten plants comfortably.

There are autos that switch in 30 days which I was under impression it takes 30 days of forcing a photo to flower anyway. Also stunting growth. Let me know otherwise, I thought of it until I read that.

Edit, sorry I see you said clones now, I though you meant seedling. They still would yield too low for me to consider vs seed. I might grow up to be a seed only guy lol

Low yield? I get huge buds and much more material than I'm willing to trim, cure or store.

Ive gone for 9 under each light which gives an average of about 115w per plant spread evenly.
If I'm still not happy with the results I will reduce down to 6 on my next one.
The Gelato 45 I have in at the moment is looking great so far.
But It's only day 27, so the dense buds I'm looking for as a result are still a while away.
Thanks for everyone's input.
