Hi guys

First time I'm trying to grow some weed... indoors, in my apartment...

Not under perfect conditions I guess... but, as I have read here, "Spend to much money: Newbies will often go buy lavish gadgets and make your once cheap grow room an expensive investment. It is best to start out cheap now what your looking for and then tweak from there. I know many people that have grown for years and they still are back to basics." , so , I am trying to do it with the tools I have ...The plant is inside a box with a reading lamp....

Straight to the point:

My plant is ~4 week old, and I think it's very small compared to the pics I saw on this forum and over the internet... it has only 4 small leaves....and, at first, I didn't pay much attention to the light period, which was 12/12 all the time... and, watching the plant closely, the "female indicators" on the plant appears to be starting to show up...

My question is: From this point, if I move to 18/6 or more, will I still be able to have a regular plant with some buds?

Thanks!

Hi guys

Thanks for the replies.

Here are some pics:

In the third pic we can see something like "little hair" in the plant. Does that mean that is a female?

As you may see, the two bottom leaves are kinda... down ! I don't know why. Hope it doesn't affect the plant at all.

Thank you!

Thats a seedling, how has it been growing for 4 weeks and only that big? Are you using a light in a ceiling fixture? You can't tell what a plant that small is going to be.. Put some CFLs about 2 inches from the plant, wait about a month and you should have a nice plant.. I go 12/12 from seed and I'm seeing bud at 5 weeks..

I guess the reason for the plant being so small is the lamp I am using... it's a normal reading lamp...

Will try with the CFL and post the results here. Thanks!

You are rushing in to things here and it shows. You need to spend a good amount of time researching stuff and getting a great idea what's up. Don't kill those seeds until they die on their own you need the practice.

Well, you can start over.. That would be one option.. But this baby is stunted big time! So it's going to take some serious time to get back to normal. It's not growing quite normal, not enough because of imporper lighting, but stretched due to improper lighting.
If you want to keep this one, take off that foil, if that's what it is. Spray paint the area in a flat bright white paint. Good job at getting the CFLs.. If you can, try to face them downward. Get that plant closer to the light also. I'm talkin 2-3 inches. Then.. Give it T-I-M-E... TIME TIME TIME!!!

Damn. I left the plant there and it became too hot. It did a little harm on the plant, nothing serious I think, so I left it outside to get some fresh air and sunlight .... I'm germin some new seeds, but I don't want to waste this little baby.

I need to find a way to get some ventilation inside the box. Maybe just a fan will do the trick or do I need to think of something else?

Thx

Look through the grow journals section, it will teach you a lot about growing environments (both good and bad).

Peace.
