hey guys,

I have 1 oz of weed (i don't know what type, i think it may be skunk actually) to use for brownies. I'm aware of the basics of making cannabutter but I just have a few questions;

How much butter shall I use for 1 oz baring in mind I want to use it for one batch of brownies? 454gr (1 stick of butter) is far too much for one recipe, and I know I could split or divide the quantities but I want to make potent brownies.

Do I add water IN with the butter and weed or just keep it in the pan of water boiling below?

I'd really appreciate any help at all, thanks!

here is how i do it lower the amount for what you need ...

4 sticks Keller butter (more fat content for teh shit to stick to)
1 oz weed
Crock pot for 2 hours on high 2 hours low.
no water...

strain with cheese cloth afew times -- dont push it out or squeeze to much .. .strain it.
put it in fridge let it set.

I have listed a recipe for a large batch, using up to a pound of trimmings. The quality of the finished products is related to the quality of your material used. You can divide the recipe according to how much material available or use this ratio:

1 ounce cannabis
8 ounce butter
16 ounce water

Cannabutter

1/2 to 1 pound of cannabis
5 pounds butter
cheesecloth
thick rubber bands
tall plastic containers with lids
4 gallon cooking pot

Place butter, cannabis in your pot. Fill with water to several inches of the brim. Cover, slightly cracked and bring to a boil over medium heat. Lower heat to simmer and cook for 6 to 8 hours, stirring occasionally. remove from heat and allow to cool until you can safely handle the pot easily. Stretch cheesecloth over the plastic containers and secure tightly with rubber bands. Ladle the mixture, onto the cheesecloth until each container is filled several inches from the top. Remove cheesecloth and tightly squeeze the remaining liquid from the strained matter. Place the containers in your freezer on a level surface for at least 6 hours. The butter will solidify and some of the water will turn to ice. Take off the lid, and with one hand supporting the ice block, turn container upside down and release. Some water will come pouring out, and the ice just needs to be scraped away from the butter block. You should be left with a round slab of light green butter. It can be stored in the refrigerator or frozen for long term storage. You can use cannabutter just as you would regular butter in any recipe. Hold on tight...

It's making my mouth water with the mention of it, LOL. I think I might have to go and make some myself!

Well, I just finished a batch of butter. I've been doing this for years, and have perfected the amounts for me to use.

I use 9 sticks of butter, that's 2.25 lbs.

and 9 ounces of powdered leaf (not bud), weighed as powder.

Crock pot on high for 1 hour to melt butter, and on Low for 6 hours with leaf, stirring every 20-30 minutes.

That amount of butter is 4.5 cups to start, and I finish with 3 cups of cannabutter, or enough for 3 batches of cookies.

For 1 batch of cookies, just use 3 ounces of powdered leaf, and 3 sticks of butter (1.5 cups) and finish with 1 cup of cannabutter.

That recipe will provide patients with a fairly standard dose of medicine. I tell them that 1 cookie is a light dose, 2 cookies is a standard dose, and 3 cookies is a heavy dose.
