McCain Seeks to Delay Debates

To actually concentrate on doing the job that he was elected to by the fine voters of the State of Arizona instead of running around the country attempting to get another job, that neither him nor Obama actually deserve.

Then he should drop out of the race. Presidents debate. It's been a tradition for awhile now, Senator positions or not. Not to mention this has been planned for months. It's not like he's saying no to a suggested debate. He's trying to drop out at the last minute.

Neither McCain or O'Bama are presidents ... they are senators who are needed at this particular time to help construct, or deconstruct this bailout package. According to the "experts," this is the greatest financial crisis to hit the country since 1929 when the Great Depression hit.

Actually, when you think about it, this is a good opportunity for both Democrats and Republicans to see what their man is made of, and in what direction they would lead the country. Are they in bed with the main players on Wall Street ... or are they truly supporting the people like they say?

This just in: O'bama says the debates will go on as scheduled. I guess he'll be debating with himself.

well, see now this is weird. Just last night you were debating me that we aren't currently in a recession. Now According to the "experts," this is the greatest financial crisis to hit the country since 1929 when the Great Depression hit.? So, now that McCain needs a bailout, you've changed your mind? Do you actually have an opinion of your own?

Are you honestly suggesting that our economy can't be fixed if McCain and Obama aren't around for a few hours?

As ViRedd said Obama and McCain are US senators. They need to do their present jobs and take care of the issue with the economy. We are not in a recession and the economy is basicly strong just like McCain said. A lot of people are still doing just fine, but the trillion dollar bailout needs some oversight. A lot of people made a lot of money on the housing mess that caused all this crap and too many are still making dough! And I think the bailout is bullshit! If you got your own ass in a financial mess, do you think the government would bail you out. Hell No! So why should the Big shots get bailed out. Its Bullshit! And crying about the re-scheduled debate is bullshit too!

ok... so McCain, Keating 5 McCain, the guy up who up until a week ago said there is no problem with the economy, the guy who doesn't know how many houses he owns... this guy can't be absent for a few hours to debate the Presidency? There's not an emote to express how hard i'm laughing right now.

So you support McCain... although you disagree with his economic stance. You also support him missing the debates to fix the economy although you think there is nothing wrong with it?

Inneed, I actually expect my president to stand up and do what needs to be done, not talk an issue to death. And that is what McCain is doing. He is actually addressing the issue, because it needs to be addressed instead of whining about how he was supposed to debate.

Of course, the reason why Obama is whining is probably because he has no idea what he should do. Actions speak louder than words, and Obama's words show that he is unfit to even be a dog catcher.

Indecisive, with out Bearing, and sadly lacking in Integrity, Knowledge and Initiative.

excuse my confusion. You quote the great depression to make a point yet you don't even think this country is in a recession. So let me see if I understand you. You think there is a problem with the economy, just not a recession, but the problem is bad enough that McCain needs to cancel the debates in order to help fix it. You give vague a new definition Vi. You can McCain should open a pancake house called "Flip-flops".

he cant even show for the debates lol 2 fucking hours out of his day.........isn't a president supposed to be able to multi task. We've had presidential campaigns during the civil war, cold war ect, and now Mccain wants to call a timeout. 2 hours out of his day. I'm sorry i would hope a presidential canididate could be able to focus on more than 1 task lol

yes, its laughable. I'm trying to find a recorded history of debates so I can see if anyone else has tried to pull a move like this. Do you know of such a list or site?

Hmmm a rather optimistic interpretation of Mccain's actions. It would seem to me he is stalling because he lacks the oratorical wit and stamina to compete with Obama. I also find it amusing that Palin canceled her campaign appearances to work on this problem...what the fuck is her contribution to this going to be, a well timed quip that she can see the Treasury building from the White House? If a candidate cannot manage this crisis and appear for a long scheduled 2 hour debate that person is unfit to be president, end of story.

Pretty narrow mindset bradly.

Of course, I should probably laugh at natrone's pointing out that there were still debates during the Civil War. I can only imagine that there would have been, because travel back then was time consuming and slow, and thus it would not have done any good to waste time traveling back to Washington to confront a crisis.

Of course, the crisis during the Civil War, was just that, the Civil War, so any debate would have had no impact upon the prosecution of the Civil War which was being directed by the Generals on either side.

As far as there being debates during the Cold War, of course there were. The Cold War was not a real war, nor was it on parity with any issue that we currently have.

Though, to say that McCain delaying the debate (he hasn't cancelled, just delayed) is proof that he can't multi-task is just illogical. I think the fact that he wants to delay the debate shows that he has what it takes to be a leader because he understands how to set priorities, something that Obama Clearly has no idea how to do, nor apparently do his followers.

You forgot to write: "I'm John MCcain and I approve of this message" at the end of your post.
