Meanwell internal potentiometer questions

Hello, I've got an A style meanwell driver with the internal dimming screw. I'm curious as to whether I can dim that driver while it has power flowing to it or if I need to unplug the driver to adjust the current without shocking myself or fucking the driver up.

Tweak it with the power on. There aren't any bare conductors in there (the HLG guts are encapsulated).

Pro tip: keep one arm behind your back and don't stand in water if you're afraid of being electrocuted.

not so much scared of getting shocked as fucking up my freshly built cherry popping DIY cob light. thanks for the help

I have another question. I'm using an hlg 240 c1050a and running 5 clu048-1212's. the default setting on the driver ran 202w which is above the 180w I was expecting. However, as I was playing with the dimmer screw, I turned the lights up to 240w from the wall. Can I overdrive these cobs because the driver has extra wattage capacity? the spec sheet shows it shouldn't put out above 1050mA so I'm confused as to why it can put out that much higher of a wattage

theyre always underated. look at test reports and you'll see that driver does 1280 mA. with a decent heatsink with headroom thats a non-issue. 1280 mA aint gonna hurt a cob

Just be gentle, the damn things are plastic and will strip easy if ya go in there all the time tweakin shit lol.

Oh shit, that's pretty cool. I feel like I just got a way better value out of my lights. the DIY Cob Calc won't do 1.2A but for 20 clu048-1212 90cri 3500k cobs over 16ft at 1.28amps can I reasonable expect something like ~1200ppfd?
