Medialess aeroponics - water when dark?

I can't seem to find the perfect scenario to mirror mine and find an answer. I have some plants in an aeroponic stinkbud like system and am wondering whether to water at "night" or not. I haven't been doing it and haven't seen any wilt right at lights on when the cap art dne is about to kick on for the day cycle, but I am wondering if there is any other way to gauge things properly.

These are basically net pots with neoprene discs and that is it. I would think letting the roots get as much air as possible without wilt at "night" is optimum, but I am not a botanist and have only soil experience so far.

I don't water in the dark period either. They're converting sugars in the dark, photosynthesizing in the light, so don't need as much feed in the dark. What you're doing is sound.

once the roots get wet they don't need anymore water. once the roots start to dry out they need water. I like stinkbuds 1 on 5 off. just enough to wet them.

KEEP the roots WET...... 30sec to 1min on no more than 5 off the roots will dry out.

what about spray cycles less than 5 seconds? with like 5 minutes off?... i have heard the roots dont mind drying just as long as they get wet within a reasonable amount of time.... one study said they have 5 second spray, & 10 minute off cycle..... just wondering what the average is.... thanks

Im a flood n drain grower & only know the basics of your style,one thing i know for sure is that you never want the root mass to dry out.

I do however use a medialess form of flood n drain & i water durring the dark cycle once an hour,when i asnt watering durring dark cycle i noticed fine root tips breaking off & laying in the rez,watering at night stopped any root tips from breaking off.
