"The majority of the patients we have now aren't experienced enough to understand even the strains they're using," said Jeff Mooij, owner of 420 Clinic in Inglewood.

"When they're growing it, they affect the plant. If they don't grow the perfect plant, they don't get the total medicine that they need," he said.

Mooij said growing marijuana is a science and Health Canada's licensed growers follow strict guidelines to grow the product properly and safely.

"They're unbelievably sophisticated," he said. "[They] have the ability to know exactly every drop of water that goes into the plant and to flush it properly and clean it."

Big surprise the LP salespeople don't like patients no longer having a gun to their head over where they get their medicine.

Could you please clarify what this means for peeps like me. I'm a med user without a script, growing my own (3 plants in flower, 3 in veg).
Since I'm not using LP's beanz, clones, etc. what kind of penalty am I looking at? How would they enforce this?

One of my patients ordered from Tweed recently and the weed wouldn't burn. She got one of the extracts and it was gone in a day and did nothing for her. She wanted to give it a fair try and also wanted a container for her own to get less hassle if stopped. Anyway, now she knows.
