Meezy's 400 watt hps/ t5 grow. soil/dwc(trying different things)

Hey folks, I'd like to start off by stating I am a grower in california and this setup is nothing special, just some personal stuff I've decided to do with the help of having my medcard.
My setup currently exists of:
4- 6500k single fixture t5 lights (these are daisy chained together, and attached to a makeshift fixutre. its pretty ghetto. lol)
1- 3 gallon dwc-(Currently using the lucas formula with GH nutes)
1 air colled 400 wattt hps
First I'll start with the picture of the veg area, obviously, it looks like shit. lol
In the black pot on the left is a bubba kush clone from a friend that was topped and is being lst'd. In the little cups and shotglass are some cuttings that I've taken, beleive it or not, thats how I clone. Nothing but water, and indirect light. No cloning gels, no hormones, just tap water thats been properly ph'd.

The dwc bucket there is my feeble attempt at using the lucas formula. Most of the damage seen is from a week back, when my ph went haywire and fucked it up. For the most part this plant wasn't anything special so it will probably be scrapped in a month. My point of keeping it alive? well thats to keep it alive. This is the first time I've done a dwc/hydro bucket, so I decided to use this one as a tester. I don't want to actually try really growing with it until I have a better understanding of it.

Now moving on to the 400 watt section.
There happens to be a hydro store a few blocks from me, so I checked the website a while back and found a 400 watt hps deal for a kit that had the enclosed ballast sunystem for 135 dollars. I spent 7 bucks on the pro grip light hangers, 5 dollars on the glass used in the hood, and 4 dollars for 2 of the 4 inch duct adapters. Then I purchased a 75 cfm duct boosting fan for the exhaust. At home depot I purchased my duct tubing for 20 dollars for 25 feet.
My grow space is a sliding door closet that measures 4 feet wide, 2 feet deep, and in height I have about 6 1/2 feet of grow space.
Since I upgraded to a 400 watt, I decided to run a scrog this time around and do some expirementing. I ended up using an old guineau pig hutch and some other materials to make, and yeah it looks ghetto but I'm proud of my own ingenuity lol
Both of the plants in the closet are Green crack teen/clones that were purchased 2 days back(their both about 12 inches tall right now). The light is a bit far from them as of right now, but I didn't want it to be too close while they are trying to root in the soil. As for the temperatures and humidty? It is at a consistent area of 76-79 degrees and 35-48% humidity.

So my plan is to veg these 2 green crack clones for 3-4 weeks while I start training them under the screen. then switch to flower, does that sound about right you guys?
I'm open to any feedback/comments/tips/suggestions. Like I said this isn't anything more than a personal grow that I'm slowly expanding, but how does it look so far? Any tips on the dwc, would be greatly appreciated.

thanks for reading.:leaf:

Back today with a few more pictures.
First off the plant in the dwc bucket, shes still alive and doing "ok" Anyone have some isight on whats going on with her? It is my first time doing hydro after all and some help would would be much appreciated. I'm guessing over nute but my ppm's are 500-550 right now, and she has been eating. Ph has been at 5.6 to 5.9 as well.

Her roots look pretty healthy in my opinion, their about a foot and half long and plenty of them.

Heres a quick pic of the bubba kush clone thats next to the hydro bucket, I just sprayed her with a neem oil mixture a bit ago. Right now she has 2 main branches, and you can see new branches developing in the middle.

Heres a couple closer shots of the 2 green crack clones I have under the 400.
This first one resembles more of a tree as of right now. I'll possibly be topping her later.

And the second one here was already topped when I got it. You can see the multiple branch tops.

So far I think I have things under control for the most part, excluding the hydro. If anyone reading this has used or is using the lucas formula with the general hydroponics nutes and has any tips on getting better results with it, would be greatly appreciated.
I'm open to any comments and suggestions about my grow, so feel free to ask/talk/comment

Back again with another update after 4 days. No pics of whats under the t5 today, it pretty much looks the same.
However on a great note, the 2 green crack clones I have are taking off, they've been growing about 3/4's of an inch each day and now both of them have started popping through the screen.

As it stands now, I think I'm gonna keep these plants on the 18/6 schedule untile they end up about 3x the size as now, and of course they will be bent under that screen ;)

Comments? questions? I'd like to have a thread with comments from people other than me lol, anything is welcome. (but keep it clean no shit talking/flaming please)

WOW, so still no comments yet. lol

Anyways for a new update I scrapped the hydro bucket, I simply decided that it wasn't for me. I did however take a few clones from the plant in it before removing it, one of them is rooted and going in a party cup of FFOF at the moment(pics later) I've also taken multiple clones from the green crack on day 2 of flower, so far one of them is rooting, the rest are beginning to.
The closet has turned into somewhat of a small forest. Here we are now on day 9 of flower for the 2 green crack.
The day before I flipped to 12 and 12 I gave them a full strength feeding of alaska fish fertilizer, they ended up loving it as you can see.
They've also started popping pistils out everywhere so I assume they are nearing the end of the stretch period.
