Mega Crop + Koolbloom -vs- Mega Crop A/B

I bought a bag of Mega Crop single part, just playing around with the numbers.

Looking at the two part I think it will scale well through flower. #/#/# is ppm in a gallon
4g A and 2g B yields 103/55/228
4.5g A and 2g B yields 106/62/256
5g A and 2g B yields 108/69/285

Using Single part and Koolbloom I get
5g MC yields 119/35/186
5g MC and .5g KB yields 121/60/217
5g MC and 1g KB yields 124/86/248

Using the single part 5g the N is fine going into flower but a little higher than I would like mid-late stage. To get the N down to 100 would be 4g single part and I think that would be light on micros considering the suggested use is 5 and up to 6 in mid/late flower. Also, adding 1g Koolbloom puts the P at 86 which seems high. I'll probably switch to the two part once I've used up this bag.

Also, does anyone use more than 5-6g of the single part per gallon? 6g only raises the ppm by 720. I know some people push their fertilizer much harder than that.

So I had punched 2-12-26 into my calculator for part A instead of 5-12-26

I like 2-12-26 better, but 5-12-26 still yields some good results.

4g A + 1.5g B = 114/55/228
4.5g A + 1g B = 100/62/257

Don't use any PK booster starting out, Cannabis do well with low P, anything over 30ppm is excessive.

Why do you only care about NPK? What about Ca:Mg ratio? The only reason to use MPK is to lower N in late flower but then you need to lower the base.

Not many use grams per gallon as a reference since we all have different source water. EC is universal and what's standard for measuring concentration and total salts. There's a big difference between RO with practically 0.0 EC and tap with 0.2-0.4 EC for example.

15ppm P in veg is ok, during flower cannabis can take a lot more P, more than twice that for some cultivars, however any more than this is not needed by any physiological function and is stored partly as phytic acid. There’s a lot more growing tissue present during flower, which is where it accumulates, allowing cannabis to “sink” P. Phytic acid doesn’t taste so good, as you might have heard people warn about a chemical taste with too much P.

I like the kelp flakes this company makes, good product… for now, same with bud explosion. They changed the formula a bunch of times in their 1 and 2 part. I can’t deal with the inconsistency.

Thanks for the replies. The three dosages isn't a schedule, just seeing what PK values I can get while keeping the N near 100. I use tap water and have never had Cal/Mag issues so I haven't bothered to get exact with it.

As far as phosphorus, I have read that commercial ferts use 30ppm but that small scale farmers can see increased gains at 50-60 ppm so I've traditionally tried to work the P in at 50ppm. It's usually a bit higher with various fertilizers marketed to canna growers. Maxibloom at the recommended 5g per gallon yields 86ppm P for instance. I hadn't read about plants storing phytic acid, will keep that in mind.

Seems like I should work to keep the P near 30. With the Mega Crop 1 part recommending 6g in late flower that puts the N at 140 which seems a little high. Any suggestions on how to get that magic ratio in mid-late flower? I'll probably try the suggested usage for Megacrop 1 part and see how it goes.

I've used the 1 part on a few runs. Nothing I grew needed anything more than the 6 in flower with 2 preferring half that in flower. From what I understand about this stuff is there's more than one source for the NPK and other nutrients so that the higher N doesn't come into play as much during flower. I've read a post elsewhere that it was claimed by GLN that you don't need anything else other than just the 1 part to get through most grows successfully. I'm not a complete organic gardener so I haven't truly studied soil down to the nth degree but I'm usually in the less is more camp with any nutrients unless I can see it on the plant.

If you really want to make corrections during flower add a little Bud Explosion if you have time to get it. These days a lb that is probably as much as a lb of MKP and it has a few other things it it that may or may not help.
