I think it would be incorrect to say that he refused. He ignored the request from the media and then from Merkel entirely. He just gave that stupid look. I don't think he meant to be rude, I don't think he can understand the slightest accent because he usually doesn't talk to the staff very much unless buying an 8-ball from his Mar-A-Lago connection.
He shook her hand at another time so I really don't think it was intentional. That is what I find really frightening; his utter lack of regard for anybody but himself. His foreign policy will be marked more by his idiotic self-serving comments then by any planned initiative his staff can do.
Such an embarrassment he is. You cannot really blame me from being down on Americans. Some are ok. I married one. She's cool. My kid is one too.

He most certainly has smaller hands than Merkel. Giving him good reason to not have them compared to her's on national TV, how embarrassing.

I don't think he meant to ignore her. I think he has problems comprehending accented speech. You could tell at the press conference when he was taking questions from German press. He had to wait for the "translation" (from English to English) before he started making stupid facial expressions.
Regardless of her asking in English and maybe not hearing/understanding..the press shouted it..he knows the drill.

Holy fucknuts. Look at the body language of the two of them. Trudeau looks calm and confident while Trump looks like somebody who just knows he doesn't belong there and likely won't be there very long.
